Potential Laine trade to Edmonton.
To EDM: Patrik Laine, Kyle Connor, #10OA
To WPG: Leon Draisatil
Next up: Florida - TheUltimateJet
No dice to both Detroit and Ed proposals. However, do think the Wings could be possible trading partner. Edmonton, not! |

As we get ever closer to the draft the buzz increases. Who is dropping a bit and who is rising.
Dropping:
Jake Sanderson. May not go top 10. His LHD status vs where he might normally get picked has a lot to do with this. His offensive abilities drop him a bit as well vs a very good crop of forwards available. A real wild-card in this draft.
Jack Quinn: Doubt he goes top 12 . His passing and zone entry skills are the question marks in his game that might drop his status. I hope the Jets pass on Quinn.
Drysdale : Earlier I'd seen him top 5 but I think his ranking gets hurt by the incredible talent at forward in this draft. If there is one big surprise in this draft it might be where Drysdale gets placed. Its entirely possible that if Minny or Jersey draft Askarov then Drysdale could fall in the Jets lap. Given the choice of Jarvis vs Drysdale, the choice is easy for the Jets....grab RHD Drysdale in a heartbeat. I still wish the Jets were drafting 9th....damn Canucks !
Rising :
Lundell for his all-around game which is somewhat similar to Brian Little if I was to use a Jet as a comparison. Super smart player but not flashy. Could easily go top as high as 7 although some scouts have him as low as 13th. Jets like intelligent players. I still think Jarvis is the better pick but won't lose sleep if its Lundell.
Seth Jarvis : Braydon Points success in the playoffs and the obvious comparisons have him going potentially top 10 . Jets make the most sense unless Minny takes a shot at him. |

Best player available Rexy! That's what I'm told all the time when I suggest the Jets need to draft for need this time around, you never draft for need, should always take the best player available apparently.
If Askarov is there at 10 the Jets should take him if he's the best player available, wonder what fans would think of that selection. - JetFuel
Goalies are voodoo. Best skater available, should be the rule. How many goalies drafted in the first 2 rounds work out? |

My guesses:
1 - NYR - Lafreniere
2 - LA - Stutzle
3 - OTT - Byfield
4 - DET - Perfetti
5 - OTT - Drysdale
6 - ANA - Rossi
7 - NJ - Sanderson
8 - BUFF - Raymond
9 - MINN - Lundell
10 - US - Quinn, Holtz or Jarvis
The Jet pick hinges on if Patrik gets traded. Like a 2nd pick in draft.
Your picks??? See who gets the most correct? |

Massive overpay by the Jets, holy crap. Like, Laine and 10th pick is a bit risky for what Draisaitl is, which is basically turbo-Scheifele. Drai can’t defend, and another shoot-first player up top won’t do us much good if we only have Nik Ehlers to play with either Drai or Scheifele |

Potential Laine trade to Detroit.
To DET: Patrik Laine
To WPG: Dylan Larkin, Evgeny Svechnikov, #32OA Pick
Next up: Edmonton - TheUltimateJet
No. That Svech is about done. The pick isn’t worth much, and Laine has been the better player between him and Larkin in their shared time |

Jarvis or Lundell. Or Rossi. If the Jets pick anyone with “big frame” as a top 3 attribute, we’re in trouble |

I'll take my shot at this......
1 - NYR - Lafreniere
2 - LA - Byfield
3 - OTT - Stutzle
4 - DET - Perfetti
5 - OTT - Drysdale
6 - ANA - Rossi
7 - NJ - Raymond
8 - BUFF - Hotlz
9 - MINN - Lundell
10 - WPG - Jarvis
Pick 1-5 is not too much different than Grahamzky but no Sanderson in top 10. My question mark would be including Lundell in top 10 vs Sanderson. I believe there is a small drop off in talent after pick 8. I also think picks 1,4,5,and 6 are locks barring a trade messing things up. Picks 2 and 3 could reverse as well as 7 and 8. |

Potential Laine trade to Montreal.
To MTL: Patrik Laine
To WPG: Nick Suzuki, Max Domi, Joel Armia, #16OA pick
Next up: Nashville - TheUltimateJet
... maybe. I’m not sold on Suzuki being as good as Laine, and we know Domi won’t actually be that helpful. Actually, no. No deal.
Be honest with me: is Armia a selling point for either team? Or is he a throw in for all of us to be happy inside? |

Duchene is the same problem as Little. Signed for too long, and a shoot first puck carrier being paired with snipers |

Yeah I know, wasn't serious, get told the
"best player available" line and hear it all the time in hockey discussions and I don't really agree with it. |

Think you're expecting too much in that one, not so fun fact: Suzuki was selected by Vegas with the Jets 2017 1st round pick that was traded to the Knights for Columbus' 1st round pick that Vegas had already acquired plus expansion draft considerations, Jets selected Vesalainen with the Jackets pick at 24th overall. |

It makes me sad that we traded that pick to protect 42 games of Tobia Enstrom. I would have preferred we went 4-4-1 protection and had lost Adam Lowry instead. |

Lowry and Enstrom in 17-18 have a bigger impact on the team that year than Nick Suzuki would have this year. They were trying to win a cup, and keeping your best PK guy and the top shutdown D of that season helps you do that |
