Just to continue my series. Potential Laine trade to Buffalo. I know that Buffalo will not trade either Dahlin or Eichel. So I will not mention them, even though I want to.
To BUF: Patrik Laine
To WPG: Sam Reinhart, Rasmus Ristolanen, Dylan Cozens, #8OA
Next up: Calgary - TheUltimateJet
You never know with Dahlin. He is up for an extension right now, and if they can't ink one, perhaps they trade him sooner than later. He might want out. Otherwise I would happily approve this trade, tho I doubt the Sabres would. |

Probably about the best we could hope for if trading with the Sabres.
I'm sure the Jets covet Cozens, and the 8th pick should garner a pretty decent player. I would think that the Jets only do this if they think that Reinhart can return to center. Plus we get a couple of seasons of Risto. Risto played better last season.
But overall, there may be better trading partners out there. |

Oh boy that looks inexperienced again!
Me thinks the Jets will go after a few UFA defense versus that young lineup. - Balboa
I agree. The Jets have always favoured experience over ability. It’s what’s holding the team back |

I think Kulikov played great this past year! Furthermore, Scheifele and Wheeler really like him. - TheUltimateJet
He did have his best season since Florida, pre-spine destruction. If Kulikov is your #6, with no special teams time, you’re gonna be just fine. |

That’s not enough to shoulder Ristolainen’s contract. |

If you did a 2016 re draft Laine would go 5th behind Matthews, Dubois, Tkachuk, McAvoy and maybe even behind Nylander & Sergachev. - Balboa
I’m pretty sure he’s ahead of all of those players besides Matthews in terms of GAR over that span.
Also, William Nylander wasn’t even in that draft, because I know you don’t mean Alex. |

Broissant re-signed!!!!
The Winnipeg Jets, the land where we go back to ol reliable! |

Some of those guys yes, but I’d guess only 2-3 GM’s take him over Tkachuk |

Buffalo would never touch this!! But if you switch Risto with Montour, I take it all day!!! But like I said, no way Buffalo does. |

*whispers* Montour is as bad as Ristolainen, but at least Ristolainen can run a Powerplay |

Tkachuk started not anywhere near as good, but is currently better. Laine still has a much higher ceiling. |

500k for being handsome. |

Potential Laine trade to Calgary. I would love to swap Laine for Tkachuk, however I know that Calgary considers Tkachuk untouchable.
To CGY: Patrik Laine
To WPG: Elias Lindholm, Sam Bennet, Noah Hannifin, #19OA
Next up: Carolina |

I think Calgary would do JG for Risto (makes cap #'s work), Cozins, #8 all day and as I pointed out JG's career numbers are much better than PL.

Dillusional.... Lindholm is the best player in this trade. Two years ago the Jets may have came close to that package... Today NO CHANCE! |

Gawd no, please no Bogo!
Even though he did well in Tampa I still wouldn't want him back in Winnipeg and he wouldn't want to return anyway.
Also think that's an insane number for him, the cap is flat and few teams have much cap space to work with and there's a lot of free agent dmen, if he gets more than $2M I'll be shocked. |

I criticized your Laine trades earlier for them not being good for the Jets and now you're expecting too much.. Lol
Make them somewhere in the middle and you'll be about right with them.
I'm about 99% certain that Laine is done as a Jet, it'll be a mistake trading him, hope that the smallest market team in the league knows what they're doing if they're trading the biggest star they have but considering Chevy's trade record in the last few years I'm not expecting this to be good for the Jets.

And is it more common for players to hit there ceilings or not,
Hint, the answer is not. |

Johnny’s much older than Laine and a UFA in 2 years. There isn’t a team in the league that would take JG over Laine for the same cost. Not one!!!!! |
