Rivalry aside.... How does it make any logical sense for Henrik to be a backup in Jersey? If NJ was a cup favorite sure I could maybe see it. As is... It's incredibly unlikely the Devils even make the post season next year let alone be a threat.

Just because Ek is reporting the Devils are in on Lundquist doesn't mean that's what Ek believes personally. Ek is just sharing what he's hearing from his sources. So obviously someone connected to Lundquist or the Devils told him this. Maybe King Henry really loves his penthouse in New York, so playing in New Jersey allows him to commute, whereas playing in say Carolina won't appeal. Who knows?

When news came out that Nylander was born in Calgary he was removed to update the percentages. There is about a 90% chance that Nylander returns home to Calgary, alongside Taylor Hall. Gaudreau to Philly. Krug to Detroit. MAF to Montreal. Price to Seattle. Ovechkin to KHL. But Malkin goes wherever he can be a man.

I still say Subban could be a great publis relationship guy to have around. He can connect with the inner city kids in Newark and promote the Devils perfectly. So there is a side of me that feels ownership may want him around for that reason..would be interesting if Devils signed Malcolm to join his brother in NJ!

Hopefully the NHL offices don't read this and learn about Pietrangelo wanting to go to Toronto or Vegas. Could be tampering. Any source that shares this could also get into trouble.
