Bill,

What's your read on the Flyers and Ridly Greig if he is there at 23? He seems kind of like a Konecny light in a way.

Also if there guy isn't there at 23 I would have no issue with dropping and getting more assets. Seems like after around 15, players are pretty interchangeable depending on what your looking for for your organization.

- J35Bacher

A bit less offensive pop than TK at the same age, but still can score. A little more well-rounded of a player than TK was at 18. Similarly competitive.

As a measure of my claim yesterday that those who are silent also take a stance, whether they want to or intend to or not, just cast a dispassionate eye on the kind of dudes who emerge from the woodwork to protest on behalf of posting norms.

The same kind of dudes who, on a much larger stage, stand by and support a President who breaks every norm of civilized behavior and institutions that we have fought so hard over the last 100 years to attain and build.

In other words, disruption is fine as long as it is your kind of disruption.

Like I said previously, you can judge others all you want. Politics should be kept off of Bill's thread, per his numerous requests. It's already known that you think you are better than others. I'll repeat the same challenge. Start a thread in the Misc. forum and I'll meet you there and debate you on any topic you want concerning politics or politicians. Disruption is fantastic in today's political climate.

Based on what Rantanen got, I assume Laine will ask for 7.5-8m. Konecny is signed for a while for 5.5m. So, you have to also consider whether those 10 extra goals and 10 less assists are worth 2.5m + all the other assets already discussed.
- PT21

We have a dozen playmakers and not enough scorers. Plus Laine at 22 has a much higher ceiling than Konecny.

I wouldnโ€™t immediately say no but I think TK has some real value at his current contract. Playoffs he sucked bad but Iโ€™m not going to write him off because of one odd playoff run.
- ClaudeFather

Iโ€™m not writing off Konecny, Iโ€™m saying I would upgrade above Konecny if possible. Getting his contract signed was a headache to wait on last summer. Fast forward to now, his playoffs was a disappointment.

Didnโ€™t see it but mixed feelings. Cigars would be acceptable, somehow vaping isnโ€™t.

I don't have the energy or time to debate you, this is a hockey talk site. I don't have the luxury of sitting at a desk most of the day, I actually work.

Higher ceiling and lower floor too perhaps (because of rumors of temperament)? Then there is the issue of his skating, and of course what we would have to give up.

Imo, there is too much risk here. If we had everything set and just needed one expensive piece, then sure. But the time is not right. We are not one high end goal scorer away from relevance. I understand others may disagree with me about how close we are. I have already stated my views.

playoff was definitely disappointing, but besides hayes and hart, there weren't many people I would say even had a decent playoff.

konecny's regular season was encouraging though. need to hope he can keep doing that going forward.

So you get to decide which forums and values are worth upending.

One,though not all, of the reasons I do what I do is precisely to draw out and underline such perspectives and contradictions.

There is nothing political about my non-hockey statements. The fact that you choose to use that particular fig leaf says more about your nakedness than about me.

i find it extremely distasteful that you keep saying your posts aren't political, just be honest and do whatever you want, I wont be a party to it anymore.

Claims that your posts are not political is absurd. Bill gets to decide and he has requested numerous times to keep politics off of his thread. Yet you persist.

I thought Waffles was stellar! ๐Ÿ™‚

I was personally tremendously disappointed by TK. It wasn't just that he was squeezing his stick too hard. All facets of his game suffered. He made poor reads, gave up rushes the other way etc.

He did not play playoff hockey.

Have you read anyone else in this thread making long winded posts about politics. I'll go out on a limb and state that nobody gives a rats ass about your indoctrinated ideas and thoughts on politics.

Not trying to start trouble here, but I do like to read the opinions and thoughts of others, not just for the content itself, but for the insights on the poster that they provide. I rarely comment on them though as I don't want to get into a debate on this forum.

So after moving Staal's (who is shot) and buying out the Queen, the Rags have 23+ million in cap space? They have Lafreniere on the way, in addition to another first round draft pick. Is their future bright?
