Charlie O Conner mentioned Ryan also brought up a camp try out deal with Philly. Interesting.

Is he better than any winger we have at this point? I mean JVR probably still has more in the tank than Ryan does at this point.

I’d rather see Ryan on a cheap deal than JVR at 7M. If we can make that contract vanish!

My dream scenario is Leafs, they get rid of Anderson and sign him. The season goes horribly wrong. Highly doubtful but maybe stat boy likes him.

That would be something.. haha

Well for cheap he looked better after he returned. Chuck is familiar and so is Bobby Stevens is it?

Ryan at 3 rd rw wouldn’t be terrible depending on the contract. But with his buyout money how much would he want. QuesSimone questions.

If the Flyers got Gunler I would high kick my own face in excitement.
- Glak18

I kind of agree with the reasoning that the Flyers have several good not great prospects at forward. Take a gamble on an imperfect player at #23 that possibly could be the sniper they lack. His shot really looks good. But I think Gunler will be gone before 23 anyway.

Does he want to play for AV again?
- arichardson22

If Elliott doesn't want to re-sign here HL would be a nice backup.

imho

Im not really sure King wants to be a backup. I don't think I would want a guy like that breathing down Hart's neck.

No one is signing him up for a 50 game starting role job. Platoon situation at best.

My statement stands. Hart is the clear #1 here.

Can we please trade for Laine before the Penguins or Rangers do.

I think that one gets done fast. Same deal. Elliott seemed to play stronger as a backup. Even the 1 playoff game he played, he played very well IMO after sitting for a long time.

Rangers are going after AP. I don't think Laine makes the Pens more of a contender. They need to keep the puck out of there own net.

Speaking of goalies - we are now halfway through paying Ilya Bryzgalov. Only 7 more years.

Rangers can't afford him. They have 13M in dead cap space this season due to buyouts. Only 23M left with 13 rostered players. Big contracts all have NMC or MNTC.

Also Bill,

Nice article. Interesting story about Van Impe and Watson.

But wait. Did you start to write this the very first minute after waking up? Were your first mins a tad meh? Did you have to use the loo? And was your aim a tad errant?

If the latter, I am sorry, but I take the praise back. If you knew you were going to do something good, you would have done it the first opportunity to do so.

You just got lucky.

Don't care if they could get him. The rumored assets it would take to land Laine, along with what his next contract will probably look like, make me not want to touch it.

I mentioned a PTO last week, I like the idea but I think Ryan finds a contract but at 33 you never can tell
