2 players I like very much....but I think the Flyers grab another puck moving dman with some size. - Glak18
Maybe wallinder. I would prefer one or two others but they are slated to be off the board with our first pick. But predraft analysis is always right, right. |

Obviously not always, but watching skill sets of players and how they use it is a glaring tell.
I mean how many years have there been where couch GMs are yelling for young kids with a huge consensus and teams pass on them? Just look at the years of Pastarnak and Barzal, I don't remember seeing anyone saying please don't take them, but many teams passed on them. I guess NHL teams know best or do they?
Sure the Flyers got Sanheim, went off the board to grab him, but Pastarnak was not a lucky pick. |

Me too. No clear advantage to Lundquist over Elliot. Elliot is well liked by his teammates and has a good relationship with Hart. Unless he wants too much I would keep him. |

I can’t see a team going to him as a #1, split time at best. If he was willing, you don’t think he could give us 15-25 solid games as a backup? |

I feel like the Flyers have to go center in the draft, they cannot afford not to. Laughton center gone wing. Trading for Grant and Thompson. Giroux can still play center but probably not at his best when he’s there. I think the Flyers want Frost at center, I think he’s looked questionable. Nolan Patrick issues. Signing Hayes.
All signs point to desperately needing center depth. |

Of course it was. If the Bruins knew what he would become they could have traded Charafor a top 5 pick and picked him there. They got lucky.
There are only 2 categories of decisions in life. The obvious ones that lead you to identify and act upon the following opportunities: Person, woman, man, camera, TV.
And the ones where it doesn't matter whay you do. You just get lucky. Or not.

Its like signing Tom Brady to be the back up to Burrows. Potential for trouble. I would stay clear. |

Also Bill,
Nice article. Interesting story about Van Impe and Watson.
But wait. Did you start to write this the very first minute after waking up? Were your first mins a tad meh? Did you have to use the loo? And was your aim a tad errant?
If the latter, I am sorry, but I take the praise back. If you knew you were going to do something good, you would have done it the first opportunity to do so.
You just got lucky. - PT21

There is a clear difference between you and I. i deal in facts, you deal in fantasy. You have no idea how high the Bruins valued Pasternak to be willing to trade up for him. Nor do you know if another team was willing or if the Bruins would meet the asking price. What we do know is when and by whom Pasternak was drafted by. The first round is far less of a crap shoot than later rounds. Something was missed with Pasternak or he would've been taken much higher in the draft. So the Bruins were indeed fortunate that Pasternak fell to them.
Finally, we see that you have been reduced to posting hyperbole. Further degrading your already suspect credibility.

Fine with it. Sounds like Lundell could drop, although I doubt it will be to 23. |

Let me rephrase that. They went off the" pundit board" but a slew of NHL teams had him as a 1st rounder by the end of his draft season; one of the biggest 2nd half risers. Sanheim was one of the few players at the Combine in 2014 who interviewed with all 30 NHL teams. Some did do as due diligence in case they picked up an extra 1st rounder. Many had him in mid/late first round. Others considered him for 2nd round. But not a reach. |

My dream scenario is Leafs, they get rid of Anderson and sign him. The season goes horribly wrong. Highly doubtful but maybe stat boy likes him. |

If I can be a bit stupid, nobody gets hurt, eh?
I thought Strome would be a nice fit but apparently his feet tend to cling to the ice while his hands are busy doing what is needed.
If a prospective can't skate decently, as of now, to me, don't enlist them to this team.
Maybe Tampa would like to slow their game? You know, so we don't look awkward.
