They bought out Lundqvist and have about $13 Million in dead salary cap plus they have some RFA's to sign. Doubt they will be doing anything too big. - winsix

23 million in cap space once they buy out FL. They have to lock up DeAngelo some depth guys and maybe Strome. They've got lots of cap space (and cash). |

Some have mentioned him as possibly getting bought out. - Archaic
I just hope he does not become a Leaf. Nice guy, just do not want him in our net. Again JMO |

who is better than andersen and cheaper....that is available? - Fakepartofme
I think some that are better that could potentially be available are Darcy Keumper, Joonas Korpisalo, and I think Matt Murray is better |

Draft is already next week.
Looking forward to see what Leafs will do.
1st round -- If they don't get Askarov or Jarvis at 15, I'd see Dubas trading down or using the pick in a trade.. probably the best option at that point if it helps the team right now..
2nd round -- Yan Kuznetzov? seems like a guy that would be a good bet at mid 2nd round..
Haven't seen any articles about who Leafs could be targetting.. |

MAF, OMFG. He has a 7 mill cap hit. And, he just lost his starting job on his second Cup contending team. I see a pattern. Pass. JMO - bixll
Only if he gets bought out. |

Granted, he had a down year, but he is capable of putting up good numbers and is only 26 |

If I'm the GM, I'm waiting to see what 2020-21 looks like.
If it's 82 games, you probably have different goalie needs than if it is 48 games.
Quick question: how done is Lundqvist? In an "oh my God, I can't believe we are actually attempting this" scenario, could you go with him and Campbell for a shortened season? - Atomic Wedgie
Hank is 38 years old. Ed Belfour was 37 when he signed with the Leafs. Just sayin'. |

He's already been bought out according to Cap Friendly, and that $23 million is for 13 signed players, need to add 13 more say including Georgiev (RFA), DeAngelo (RFA) and maybe Strome (RFA) even if those three cost only $11 million (it is probabably more) that leaves them $12 million for 10 roster spots. That's as tight as a bull's ass at fly time.

Hypothetically? Georgiev and Korpisalo would fit. Kuemper if the Yotes ate some AAV.
He's definitely going to need to be creative if he goes that route. |

I was throwing out some names that would be a surprise if Dubas acquired them.. MAF as a UFA or even at 50% retained would be fine with me..
MAF at $3.5M would be a good add. |

I hope not.
Maybe like a Quick, MAF, Grubauer, Jones, Varlamov or Rittich? - PatC80
Regarding MAF, Rinosaur in the main thread had a good point a couple of days ago:
Vegas might be better off trading him for a 7th round pick and retaining half his salary than buying him out.
If they buy him out, here's his cap hit for the next four years:
$2,583,333
$3,083,333
$2,083,333
$2,083,333
Would you rather take a $3.5M cap hit for two years and then wash your hands of him?
And would the Leafs be interested in him for two years at $3.5M? |
