I would if there's a way to extend Laine. I wouldn't if he plays here for 1 or 2 seasons and then leaves as a UFA. same goes for Domi the other way around I guess.
If a deal can be done to extend Laine, I would even consider switching Struble for Caufield.

oh! and Karine, excellent once again.

- fidopro

why would you EVER trade Caufield?...not since Steve Shutt have the Habs had such a pure goal scorer....thats just nuts!

I’m not trading the first unless we fetch a first liner RW.

Seriously I’m kind of lost of what could happen. I don’t believe Bergy will make a huge trade to bring in a RW. Each year we talk about big trade and usually what he does is 1v1 trades (Subban Webber) (Sergachev Drouin). I don’t believe Domi or anyone else will fetch a first liner RW.

My bet is Domi sign a multi year extension. A Drouin deal.
We sign a UFA like Toffoli or Granlund.

I don't see a big move like Laine or Gaudreau. More something towards Rakell, Schwartz or Anderson which may cost Mete + some picks and maybe a prospect. He may trade his 1st, that would be a good option as you pointed correctly Karine, there is a market for that. He also could sign Dadonov or Smith from the UFA. But a big move à la Laine, forget that. Berg est trop prudent pour cela.

I also think he's going to keep Domi.

I agree he won't, but it's starting to get frustrating. When is the last time we actually had offensive players to get excited about? Here are our last players to reach top 30, top 20 and top 10 in scoring.

Last top 30:
Max Paccioretty : 2016 - 2017 67 pts - 26th

Last top 20:
Alexei Kovalev : 2007 - 2008 84 pts - 11th

Last top 10:
Matts Naslund : 1985-1986 110 pts - 8th

If you're gonna play Byron on the 4th, might as well trade him for a bigger guy.

I'd figure he'd go for a 3rd Rd pick... Maybe... And they'd play Belzile or Poehling on the wind.

He’s been an injury prone last two years. I don’t see anyone trading for him. 3.40millions for 3 more years. What I think is he’s still useful, can skate, play PK and can replace someone on other lines if injuries there is.
Unless he’s packaged I don’t see anyone trading for him. Sadly.

Yeah probably going back to teletravail.

Our directeur general is back from sick leave, he spent a month in coma and 3 months in rehab from covid, I have a feeling he won't be soft on preventive measures

Ouch. I would expect as much.

I have a friend who works for Ubisoft. He's been working at home since April. He was supposed to go back to the office early October. I think that's out of question now.
