So, the face-value review appears as follows: Eichel doesn’t want out of BUF; BUF doesn’t want to trade Eichel; move along, nothing to see here. Fair enough. But some rumours are worth checking out/mentioning. Which I’ve now done. Now back to draft prep.

in the u.s., both cases and more importantly deaths have been on a general downward trajectory over the last 6-8 weeks.
might see a slight uptick/plateau in cases. Deaths will continue to decline.

Well I'm no virus expert, not even close... But none of that surprises me at all. I would assume as society goes deeper into any sickness hospital's become more equipped, doctors get better at treating it, etc... Therefore less deaths. More protective equipment is more readily available, increased testing with faster results, etc, equals less total numbers.
I also wouldn't suspect any of that to change the infectiousness or ability to transmit going forward, which doesn't change the need to implement successful protocols so it doesn't go back the other way.
It's not like because less people are dying or case numbers are going down they suddenly have the ability to go okaaaay back to life as normal. Certain chunks of the US already played that card and it didn't go very well. |

I think hospitals get better, some treatments improve and as the virus mutates, it becomes less deadly (why kill the host that is feeding you). On the flip side, the mutations make the virus better able to spread, dry winter air allows particles to move more freely, people spend more time inside and any spikes, at least in the US, are happening from an already high level of infection around the country. People don’t take wearing masks seriously.
Deaths are projected to increase in the US even if current restrictions are kept. If they are eased, deaths are expected to more than double by the end of the year and Florida just lifted all restrictions even though they’re at top of cases or deaths. |

Ok. Relevant re whether there’s a season or what kind of season but it’s all too uncertain anyway.

He unfortunately isn't the ignore and he'll go away type, more the if someone makes him look stupid enough he'll disappear for 3-4 pages type.
See his big pharma angle a few pages back for an example of how that looks in real life... 🤣 |

agreed. more therapeutic solutions are available/widely known. This allows for strict protocols to be lifted/reduced; unless hospitals starting pushing up on capacity limits.
There was no good solution. But judging from Beligum/Spain/Sweden/France etc., a 2nd wave appears to be much less deadly. Canada is a different boat with a much bigger at-risk population still.
U.S. needs to move on from worrying about how people are dying and start worrying about how people are living.
