My thoughts one thing in draft is I am surprised nobody is mentioning Askarov going to Nashville at 11...Pekka Rinne days clearly coming to end and I clearly didnt see anything out of their goalies in their playoff loss to Coyotes...I think Carolina & NJ are teams that may trade up (or down if NJ 7th pick involved) to jump at chance to have a goalie who some say is only a year away from NHL ready!

You don’t know when Askarov will leave the KHL so his impact on the current aging core is very unknown.

Still a better call than sending Pointe to the box for getting stuck in the nuts!! Really, that was the PP Tampa should've had to end regulation.

Sucks to give up a 2nd, but kinda solves the cap problem.

Could this change the whole buyout situation with Hank? Couldnt they just tell him he's 3rd string and sorta force his hand toward retirement now?

Shocked this trade happened, needed the cap space big time. Sad to see Staal go but he had to, I thank him for the time here and leadership he provided for the young guys.

Good move for both teams. And are we surprised Yzerman made a trade with the rangers?

Rangers have to have another move to follow. Don’t think they trade a 2nd rounder to clear Staals salary unless something else is to follow
