FFS, he's making $700,000 next year.

If they find anyone better, they can bury him with no cap hit.

Why the frank would they buy him out?

- Atomic Wedgie

anytime you can keep the cap hit instead of just sending a player to the minors, you have to do it.

also..can you even buy him out?

What's the message?

"MLSEL has no idea what they are doing!"

Everyone already knows that, so once again, why buy him out?

- Atomic Wedgie

even if they did buy out Marincin, Dubas would just re-sign him for the same cap hit for 2 more years..

Maybe buyout Marincin. Only option left to rid ourselves of this constant nuisance.

Geezus - Christian Folin signed for .750k would be so much better than
Marincin.....come on guys...enough with this dude!! FACK buyout for sure

- paulozz

I mean...Buying him out would be pointless.

But i'm also pretty sure they can't. I think the player has to have a cap hit over 3 mill or something like that.

1 year 2M deal for Ryan?

Gets to play next to Matthews or JT.

Would be a smart move on his part. Pitt would be a good option for him as well.

The silver lining is that his family is going to sue the NHL for jillions of dollars.

Proper medical protocol is to have qualified doctors watch the game on TV so that they can make the right diagnoses if a catastrophic injury occurs.

That night, the league only had doctors listening on the radio.

I sincerely hope this frank-up is what gets Bettman fired.

Why are we not talking about the coaching staff? Hakstol, Maholtra, MacLean? I wonder if becoming a leaf staff member is considered like early retirement? They must pay competitive wages but the perks of the facility and etc would be ahead of most other organizations.

Especially considering that the leafs are the only Canadian team that didn't lower it's pay during covid.

He will be lucky to get an offer this year is my guess. At best, it's similar to Corey Perry deal.

Whatever it is it would be more about the fit and than money.

If he plays well he could get a 3 year deal at a decent cap hit.

None of them will say it. But they're all hoping to be the next Leafs head coach.

I'm not sure Toronto is the best place for Bobby...

Anaheim is 1 thing.. Hell surfers are more recognized in Newport than hockey players.. Ott another... Toronto is whole different solar system.. with his recovery.. That doesn't sound like the best plan.

I'm not sure I understand your point.

Keefe is too young.

Hakstol is 52

Malhotra is 40

OK, MacLean is 62 - but that's exactly why they brought him in.

Nah I think guys who are willing to take 1 year 1 million deals will be in high demand. Still have to ice a roster.

Maclean is going to be their eye in the sky, only because they don’t want the embarrassment of having his doppelgänger sitting behind them.
