Yeah that is so true. Any trade would need to be equal salary or the other team takes salary. Flyers have pretty much zero cap space available after they resign RFA's and Elliot. - mickel25
Anything over 1mm for elliot is an overpayment at this time. Goalie market is flooded. I cant see any other team interested elliot really.
As Bill said every dollar counts so this is also why you dont pay to keep Pitlick around. Also why you don't overpay to keep Hagg. |

Any interest on B.Ryan? Given the buyout he will could be signing a cheap deal similar to Perry at 1.5 mill |

If Lindblom is healthy enough to start the season as a full time player, then I don’t really see how Laughton isn’t the 3C (assuming NoPa isn’t available). G, JVR, Lindblom. There’s the top 3 LWs. IMO, whether he’s playing the wing or center, Laughton is not a 4th liner. Although if NoPa is back & effective at 3C, I wouldn’t hate the idea of Laughton at 4C. Would be real nice depth down the middle, I just think Laughton is very capable top 9 forward at this point.
Now, find a way to unload JVR & his contract, and the roster can really start to take shape

But yet you just suggested Bozak as an option for 3c. Pit at 1 mil is not overpayment. Vets are needed. Just look at this past season. |

Yes at 1 million. You think he will take 1 million? Plenty of vets on this team that is a weak argument.
3rd line center has a potential huge void does it not. Comparing bozak and pitlick are like apples and oranges.

That was your suggestion. And why wouldn’t he? What do you think his salary demands will be. 5 years at 5 mil. |

PICK OF THE DAY.... not loving the lines today but I gotta give a pick. Up $2400 this week and gonna just bet $100. Maybe get to cool $2500. Not loving it but gonna take the over on Tampa/Dallas over 5 goals tonight. Hope for a 2-2 score and get at minimum a push if not a win. 4-2 this week with yet another lock of the week big winner for the naysayers who have gone quiet since I put serious picks up here. Typical flyers fans some are. Picks in writing yet only one other person with the sac to post a pick. Shocker |

Like farabee I think Oscar can play both sides. But yes. We are heavy on the lw position. |

Well since he is a free agent I am going to go out on a limb and say he will want a raise from his contract this year. Don't you think?
Actually I hope they bring back Grant. Then can watch the holy trinity get wasted for another year. |

No I don’t think he will demand a raise. Especially knowing the cap will be flat. Another team with more cap space could offer more. The let him go. And good to know you want the team to make decisions you believe are bad. Excellent. |

Send JVR to a team that needs to hit the cap floor. If NoPa can play Laughton can C the 4th line. G can move back to Wing and NoPa can C 3rd line. |

I think he will get a PTO somewhere. If he can still shoot then I wouldnt mind giving him a shot if you move someone like JVR

What was Moose’s last deal? 1yr/$2 mil? I think that’s fair for what he provides. Even in this market, I don’t think he’s gonna get half of the prior years’ rate.
I’d try to see if he’ll do it one more time. $2mil isn’t bad for a backup of his ilk. Maybe he takes 1.75 because of the market, but he didn’t underperform for his paycheck last year. It was just about right. |

So let me get this straight, no to signing Pitlick and no to signing Elliott, but we're fine with taking Bozak's 5M cap hit? What is going on here? |

There is huge hole at 3rdne center is there not if Frost doesn't pan out? Who said had to take the full cap hit? I mean no team ever retains. |

Why on earth would you pay him the same when he really doesnt have much leverage? |

I'd say Brindy and Podein were better than Betts and Lappy, but they were definitely near the top.
But I mean come on...Paul Ranheim? Kent Manderville? Those guys were dime-a-dozen players (nickel in Manderville's case). Were they the "good glue" types? I'm sure. But calling Paul Ranheim the backbone of a team? Come one dude. - jmatchett383
Most fourth line players are a dime a dozen. No matter how good Betts was with in his role, he was never going to be Rod Brind’Amour. I’m not even gonna begin to make such a comparison but I do believe depth, most importantly the fourth line will make or break a team, regardless of the talent you may have in your top six. |

You offered nothing but saying Bozak is somehow an option. Not who the Flyers were trading for him, or anything about St. Louis retaining salary. |

yeah I said 1.5, maybe he will give a discount so the Flyers can use dollars elsewhere. I think he worth the 2 but the market is full of goalies. |

Not as poor as your they need a veteran; which is beyond laughable. Point is he will seek a raise and multi year deal before he accepts 1 year same salary deal.
He will not say he Mr fletcher give me 1 million and Iwill stay. |

So you didn't answer the question. What I did was answer someone else's question. No more no less.
Who do you think they should target to fill the 3rd line center spot (outside of Frost)? Now i don't expect any response but what can you do. |
