Right. But you need to be able to defend to attack. Defense leads to offense. - Peter Richards
The idea is to play with the puck more, get in on the forecheck and play strong in the neutral zone. If you're hemmed in all the time, there are going to be opportunities for the opposition at the net. The first things I mentioned here were the issue against the Isles. Not a lack of physical defenseman.

I wonder how the caps will look with Laviolette behind the bench. He is puck pursuit on steroids. Eventually it gets old but he seems to have success for the first couple of seasons. Going to be interesting how they look next year. |

You won’t get hemmed in with good defense. |

This is where you are incorrect. They dont have to trade any roster player for him. It can be a pick or prospect. A trade is not almost impossible. That is your opinion.
Just curious why you think they wouldn't take Laughton, raffle, or Nak if they are looking for cap savings? I would trade Laughton for him as it addresses a need the Flyers have currently. Can find a winger more easily than a center. - login
No it cant. How are you so blind. We dont have the cap room. Someone has to go. I never said they wouldnt take Laughton. I know they would because he is younger and better. Neither I nor the Flyers would trade Laughton for Bozak. Raffl as Bill pointed out is not a guy who is more valuable to us than we would ever get in value for him.
We dont need a 3C. We have several players in house already who can play there. |

They do need a 3rd line center if Frost isnt that guy; how you cant see that is mind boggling. Oh my bad they have Laughton and giroux to move there; even though the Flyers clearly don't want them in that role Yet I am blind. Save it.
You create cap room; not hard to do. Again you are incorrect as your allowed to go over the cap by what 10% in the off season. So therefore they do have the cap room do they not?
Yes you said they don't want anyone on the flyers; then backtracked. To say they wouldnt take raffle is well your opinion; they save over 3 million in cap space and he takes up a roster spot which they would have to fill anyway

At this point in their careers. Scott is the better player and has a much more favorable cap hit. But I guess that is opinionated. |

Both free agents after the year. Bozak hand downs the better center option over Laughton.
They think so highly of Laughtonas a center they acquired Thomson and Grant. What does that tell you?

Holy poop. I just looked at Ottawa’s roster. They only have 3 forwards locked up right now and two of them only have a year left on their deal. They have 6 forward RFAs but still. Not much certainty going on there.
Only 4 D men under contract too lol. Are we sure this isn’t an expansion team? - hereticpride
They have a lot of talent coming tho |

Alex Lyon signed for 1year, 700k. Cap Friendly shows it as a two way contract which contradicts what a Bill was talking about a week or so ago. That’s a pretty severe pay cut for Lyon. |

To prove bozak is better player right now than Laughton. That we should trade for a guy that would cause cap issues.
Let’s even make it simpler. What are their stats from this past year.
Yes I would rather have Laughton at wing. But I would also rather him be the third line center than bozak. Let’s see how well both do next season. |

You cant "Just" create space. You dont waive a magic wand and you have cap space. Who are the Flyers moving to create said Cap space? We wont be getting rid of JVR unless we pay a team to do so which is not a move worth making for a guy like Bozak.
You can go over the cap by 10% but like I said before that is not something you want to do because then you still have to be compliant by seasons end. Any GM is smart enough to see a team is desperate to get rid of cap space to be compliant and you end up on the wrong side of a deal because of that.
I didnt backtrack at all, I can keep pointing things out but I cant understand it for you. I clearly said STL wouldnt be interested in our replaceable players. Again something that was CLEARLY pointed out. I also said I was humoring you as well.
For the 3C yes they could move Laughton or Giroux, they also have NoPa who should be healthy and potentially Frost. Hell they could just re-sign Grant if they wanted to and not have to give up anything. Bozak is 33 and only had 29 points last year. He is trending downwards. Laughton was 2 points behind Bozak with like 20 less games played and is in his prime years.
All you have done is throw out random things the Flyers should do without specifying how they are going to accomplish any of it. Trade for this guy, create cap space, Hell why dont you just say Flyers should just win the Cup.
Im done arguing with you, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about and are too stubborn to admit you are wrong.

Well the flyers see it differently. They don’t view him as a center. Why don’t you want to accept that ? |

do the flyers have cap space right now to add hi via a trade? yes or no?
Why cant you grasp they have little to no interest in using Laughton or Giroux at center? Tell me why you cant see that when it is clear.
NOPA lol get back to me when he plays every game. Counting in him is grasping at straws.
Bozak is a better center. Again why did the Flyers move Laughton when they really needed a center?
Yep no idea. Your just a flat out dope. Do yourself a favor ignore my post going forward. My guess is you cant help yourself and you won’t |

PICK OF THE DAY.... not loving the lines today but I gotta give a pick. Up $2400 this week and gonna just bet $100. Maybe get to cool $2500. Not loving it but gonna take the over on Tampa/Dallas over 5 goals tonight. Hope for a 2-2 score and get at minimum a push if not a win. 4-2 this week with yet another lock of the week big winner for the naysayers who have gone quiet since I put serious picks up here. Typical flyers fans some are. Picks in writing yet only one other person with the sac to post a pick. Shocker - SMS4016
2-1 end of first. Hope you boys jumped on yet another winner from the swami. |
