Leafs would need a goalie as well then.
What's the plan?
Holtby?

they could still move ahead of the yankees..better seeding...and finishing ahead of the yankees...the poopty stupid spend a billion dollars yankees
- senstroll

I have no problem with the Yankees spending more than other clubs. Hell, I respect it.

So doing a quick eyeball, it looks like the Jays and Yankees were 5-5 against each other - the 1st tiebreaker.

2nd tiebreaker is intradivision record. If Jays win final 3, that's also equal.

3rd tiebreaker is record in the final 20 division games (plus one until the tie is broken).

Somebody else needs to do the math on that one.

Nylander will follow Ryan's footsteps: from 'promising young scoring first line winger' while playing with elite linemates to a cap burden soon to be bought out
- MaximusAurelius

In retrospect the Ducks should have found a way to keep Bobby. He thrived here and the trade crushed him. He had magic hands.

That goal he scored in the playoffs against the Preds is a classic. He turns Legwand inside out and abused Pekka Rinne. Even made Weber look foolish on it.. When Weber was actually good.

But as a jays fan I get to irrationally hate the yankees.

They could use the two second round picks to acquire - say a goalie from the Rangers.

This could all change if some players are bought out today

Never been a big Freddy fan, but I am not sure which goalie would fit those criteria?

Love the video.

The skates were so bad.

The sticks were so bad.

The goalies - and their equipment - were so bad.

- Atomic Wedgie

Interesting you mention the equipment - my old highschool gym teacher used to be a sales representative for ccm, bauer etc and the various hockey lines in the 1960's. Sold equipment to all the teams. He claimed that Bobby Orr had such a big ass and thick thighs that he had to get custom pants from the manufacturer.

So yeah, gettinga Patrick Laine at a "Cheap" cap hit for 2 years isn't better than what Dubas gave out for 6.

There's nothing irrational about Yankee hatred. How annoying is it that the Yanks cap is so ubiquitous? How many non-baseball fans where this hat just because it has NY on it? Irritating AF.

Couple that with a franchise that has consistently spent WAY above the "competitive balance tax" threshold is worthy of all of the ill-will you can possibly throw their way.

(frank) the Yankees. And (frank) the Boston Red Sox while we're at it.

How come other teams aren't described as "top Heavy"?

He ain't signing for that deal again. And only having a year left isn't great for his trade value.
2 years is just too short.

They are boss. It's just that other squads top heavy includes some D... not all F.

I'm not quite as sold on Georgiev as some. He's not especially big for a tender and his numbers haven't been too impressive.

Still young though and with upside... but I'd prefer Kuemper/Elvis/Korp.

Raanta is smallish and seems to be injury prone, so I would definitely pass on him.
