Goaltending is a fickle thing. Khudobin is 34 and on his 6th NHL team. No one saw this coming from him 4 years ago. Good chance he never does this again.

It's weird how some players just slip the cracks in the NHL. Timing can be so important, the spots available in the lineup, etc...

He had 3 or 4 straight seasons of less than .910 SV% and +2.60 GAA before the last 3 seasons.

Also, in regards to Khudobin, we should also note the kind of teams he's had in front of him as goalie stats can be directly factored by this. The teams he's had in front of him have been very solid defensively, good at limiting chances and possessing the puck.
