I'm cool with that but I just have this feeling that JJ is staying put. Why wouldn't they have moved him first if they had a deal for him? I just dont have a good feeling...
- MacPatty

Maybe the acquiring team needs to make a move first, especially if Murray is also involved. But if there was ever a time to jump the gun on a trade, this would be it.

You'll love it. De Buyer is a great brand, too. I've emailed them a few times with questions they actually answer back. You'll see lots of different videos and tutorials on how to season and care for these things, but they set me straight.

What's a good searing pan?

I have a big ass De Buyer pan. Its pretty darn good but damn expensive. Got it as a gift, and I like it a lot but its like a $130 pan, don't think id pay for it myself.

I got the 12.5" for $65 on Amazon. I've used it a couple of times so far and got a great crust on a ribeye. They're great for eggs.

Why pick up bottom 6 spare part garbage piece on top of Matheson?... What the fvck is going on here? Hahaha
- MattStrat

Honestly I bet that was because the florida GM couldn't get insurance on the contract so he made rutherford take a crap player instead.

De Buyer's carbon steel Mineral B is what I have and it is killer for searing. It's just such a versatile pan. It can go in the oven at high temps, too. I just find it easier than cast iron and equally as good, but more versatile since you can cook acidic foods in it.

The seasoning process only takes about 15/20 minutes as opposed to the long process for cast iron.

Maybe, but I sort of doubt it. After trading Horny and with ZAR injured, we are kind of thin on bottom six wingers with next to no money left over. I don't know if you'll find much better for a vet at $1.2M with one year left. Not saying he's great or anything, but he's probably on the level of ZAR.

Sometimes a change of scenery helps underachieving d-men. Just take Ceci's time in Toronto as an example.

That I don't know. Are you asking because of possible warping issues?

I ask because cast iron is not recommended due to weight, scratching, and heat transfer. A quick google and it looks like carbon steel is fine on glass. You like it specifically for searing or overall general use as well? I just got a Napoleon grill so I won’t be doing as much pan searing.

Ceci sucked in Toronto as well. Sucky players will generally always be sucky.

I like it for everything, but I got an equally good sear as I did in the cast iron and as I've said it requires less care than cast iron. It retains heat VERY well.

EDIT: When I used it to sear, I only used a little less than medium heat and let it heat for a while. You don't need to use high heat with it. I did read that if you use electric stove tops you should never use high heat. Because of the nature of electric it may cause warping at high heats.

Look at the SKATR charts for Matheson and Dumba and tell me which guy is crucified for being trash and which one is the hottest defenseman on the trade market.

I don’t think anyone is saying he’s useless. It’s just a really ugly contract considering his overall production. He’s definitely an upgrade over Johnson, but he shouldn’t be in the top 4 and paying a 3rd pairing dman $4.8 mil for 6 more years is awful.

It’s even worse considering Johnson is still on the team

This past shortened season was good for Matheson and not good for Dumba. But go back a year and it's a totally different story. But point taken about describing either of these guys in the extreme.

Madden believes Matheson pushes JJ out. RW, that should make you happy, but no, all you got is complaints.
- Doogs

That’s what I expect 100%.
People pretend Hörnqvist was a great value @ $5.3M on a 3rd line role (33yo, slow AF and 87/71 running away from playing with him). This trade might work just fine.
