OR he plays the right side which JR did hint at previously. - Rinosaur
Really hedged on that. Talked up Ruhwedel when asked about RD. What I got from that interview was JJ isn't in the plan.....at all. Kind of funny how JR kind of stuttered when Johnson's name was brought up. |

These moves to beg a certain question: Even if they don't move Johnson, do they move POJ?
Having Matheson now who's locked up for six years, Pettersson for five and Dumo for three. I understand having Riikola around for injuries, but where does that leave POJ?
Riikola is a depth defenseman, but POJ is a projected starter. |

he doesn’t expect to be busy the first 48 hours of free agency after taking on two new contracts.
This is fairly troubling. Right now the Pens don't have any legit 3rd liners aside from McCann. I feel fine about Simon on the third, but only if there's a stronger winger on the RW. Right now it sounds like Scevior is their third line winger. |

Sounded like JR thinks POJ needs a little more developmental time, but they do love his progression. |

No... It was kind of funny that JR didn't seem ready for the "what about JJ question". I think he's gone one way or another.
Didn't seem real positive Simon is coming back either. |

Said Poulin is "physically" ready for the NHL and will be given a chance to earn a spot. |

Where will we place Kapanen and Sheary? In my mind one of them would be a 3rd liner. |

Kap is Sid's RW. Sheary is looking for work in Europe hopefully. |

No Tanev? Poulin-McCann-Tanev? Tanev imo is gonna surprise people with an opportunity of more minutes and the right 2 offensive leaning players. |

Tanev might not have the best hands, but he was under-utilized last season. Should have gotten some shifts higher in the lineup. |

My guess is they are trying to groom POJ to replace Pettersson |

Don't know how it shakes out, but we have Poulin, Tanev, McCaan, Bluegs, ZAR, Sceviour, Laffs. |

They’ve played Johnson on the right side before when we had too many LDs. This does not at all mean Johnson is on the outs. I don’t even know what a Jack Johnson trade looks like right now. |

Guentz-sid-lafferty temporarily
Tanev-G-Rust
Zuck-McCann-kap
Poulin-blueger-Sceviour
I’d use this to bulk up the 3rd line. Tanev and laff can do corner work and use their speed. Poulin gets 9 games and if not good enough try out O’Connor. Try and trade a D at some point to replace laff or see if anyone within organization can step up better.
I wouldnt stack the top 6 unless trailing. |
