It is rare for a good goalie to drop off a cliff entirely from one season to the next like he did. Unless injuries are the cause, it could also just be the poopshow that was the Wild for a good chunk of last season. He could be a decent enough back-up for Demko.
- Retinalz

I think he’s just straight up declining. Even the year before when his sv% looked okay, it was because Minny played really solid defense in front of him, they did a great job of limiting shots taken close to the net and from the slot. His sv% should’ve actually been higher that year.

I’m sure he won’t be as terrible as last year but he’s a backup at best now, I wouldn’t want rely on him as a 1B type with Demko

How can Escrow have nothing to do with it?

If Sutter base salary is 3.5 and Canucks only need to pay him 70 % of that it means Canucks need to pay him this year only 2.2 mil to play this year in real money plus his 1 mil bonus. That million bonus was suppose to have been paid July 1 . That is pretty straight forward . So we agree Canucks still owe Sutter 2.2 this upcoming year.

Buyout costs 1.166 this year and 1.166 next year totaling 2.332 in real buyout dollars.

- VANTEL

Because it doesn’t. As I said, they pay his full salary of 3.5 million, but whatever escrow is, is transferred to an NHL holding account. It doesn’t stay in a Canucks Sports & Entertainment account lol. Although I’m sure Aquilini would love that

His buyout is 2/3 of 3.5 million. It’s pretty simple.

Nope, not at all. Would love to get Holtby if the price and term is right.

Hell, maybe even MAF or Lundquist for a year (assuming they're bought out) is better than Dubnik.

Got it

Still not worth having a cap hit over two years when it can be over this year.

I think Thomas Greiss is available as well? Not a bad option.

Escrow has nothing to do with buyouts, the team stills pays the money the player puts in escrow.

Buying out Sutter saves the owner around a million bucks. Full stop. It saves the team 2.2 million in cap next year and it cost 1.1 the following year.

Buying out Sutter would save both the owner and the team real money and cap money.

Buying out Baertschi saves Aquilini 800K in actual dollar but only saves around 600K in cap space next year but costs you 800K the following year. So essentially it doesn’t help much except save Aquilini some cold hard cash. Which what I said in the first place.

He doesn't understand the cap, how do you expect him to understand escrow?

How would you feel about giving up a first or second of the 2021 draft for Cernak or Cerelli?

I can't cheer for them .

I think they have too many advantages. Tax free , bikinis all year round , first over all picks.

I always cheer for the underdog.

They’ve had two #1 picks, we’ve had several #2 overall picks.

Daniel Sedin was a great pick, Linden and Nedved were good picks, not great.

Not a physical player obviously but not many great to really good offensive players are. 400 goals (393) 1041 points in nothing to disrespect.

90 NHL players in history have 1000+ points.....90!!

That’s a no brainer

The Isles would be in shambles after that trade

Everyone (well, almost everyone) knows that the Sedin's were exceptional players.

Longevity is the key to breaking 1000pts, that and the skills

If Petersson can play a similar amout of games/season i think he'll be in the 1000 pts club himself.

He’d probably be the #2 dman here behind Hughes. Heavy shot, can play physical and pretty decent defensively.

Pelech is super underrated too
