I think long term for any player is nuts. Long term works out most times for superstars but the game changes so fast that you are constantly changing IMO. Look at Laine now and Nylander , two stars that the teams want to move. Luckily the teams have given both players respectable AAV . We extended Brock last year now he is at the top of the Canuck trade list.

I think he would be a fantastic addition, but I question whether the Nucks can pay the price it would cost and if Boston even wants to get rid of him.

Carlo would be a great addition but he's not as good as many think. You are going to look pretty good defensively when the team has +50 goal differential. I think Cernak in particular will be acquired as a top 2 guy and in reality be exposed as a slow simple player.

As VHG says, at least we got Pearson out of it.

Same with team D and shots against, the forwards have got to help out a lot more. I think this year is a chance to change two bottom 6 players and that would be a good start . I would start by a new 3C and I would not mind Kyle Cifford for fourth line duties.

So many ways it could go. If I was Benning I would sell Loui for half price where it cost the team nothing this year and 1 mil next year.
