Pierre LeBrun: 'It's nearly impossible to move money right now. Owners directing GMs to add no extra payroll'. Will be hard to find takers for Jonsson, Kerfoot. - fifty__missions
There are options IMO. You could take a contract like Hossa and bury it while sending Kerfoot, and taking Keumper for example. Lots of things out there to try.
Sorry if I hurt your feelings by posting a personal opinion.
I get you're here for the 'retweets' of other posters of what Lebrun says? - MaximusAurelius
You devastated me Max. Just here to get your opinion on things anyway.
My lord, Eks double header rumour is pure BS. Was he watching MLB when his alter ego suggested it as a rumour? - Woderwick
I dont know why he continues to post bogus rumours. Everyone knows he's a fraud. He should focus on improving the site opposed to posting his fake rumours. Does anyone actually come to the site to see them?
If Lebrun is right (nobody's taking $$ in trades) then the Leafs best case scenario might be saving a couple million in net and grabbing a FA dman in that 4-5 Milly range. - The Law

Screw Weegar. None of this pushes the needle for the Leafs. Save that cap space if thats all they add. If they add one of those players as second line for a reasonable cap hit, ok.
I would say you'd better concentrate on other things than to just randomly pick on my comments.
I don't get the point of you wanting to be on a hockey forum if you cannot tolerate other people's opinions on hockey-related matters.

More than ever, wouldn't it be ideal for Arizona to move that contract? Not sure where you're hearing that the Leafs aren't interested in LTIR moves if it means they can squeeze some assets out of any such deal.
EDIT: Nevermind, forgot that insurance may pay a substantial portion of his salary.
He says that we'd be in a much better position with a power GM like Federov. I cant believe all the NHL teams have been bidding on him for so long he hasnt signed yet.

Hossa is mostly paid by insurance, why would they take on more money?

I wonder with the expansion draft whether the Leafs add two guys they want to keep? And if they've only got 4-5 Milly to spend then they're only really able to add 1 anyway. Maybe add 1 now and then a rental at the deadline then they don't have to worry about who to protect and the cap hit would be much smaller.
Doesn't move the needle a tonne right now but what options do they have if teams are not taking on any $$?

Could be a bit of an issue. But my argument is that we are worrying about something that isn't expected to occur for 4-5 years and may never occur at all. (Pietrangelo significantly regressing)
Focus on improving the team in the next three years to make a cup run. Figure out the rest in the next 3 year plan. - Leafs43
I’m not saying don’t do it but it’s a factor and apparently enough of one to make STL walk away. Obviously how big a factor depends on extent of regression, how big the AAV and how big the bonus.
Pietrangelo clearly wants to be able to dictate how and when he retires.

I didnt realize he was mostly being paid by insurance. My point was that there are options. Trading Freddy for Keumper for example is an option. There are ways to get creative.

Don't sign Pietrangelo.
Having a bad feeling on how that signing would pan out; he'll get slower and since he's not excellent on the defensive side, I think he'll look worse and worse very quickly. He's a great defender now, but in 2 years might look quite bad already (in particular considering the caphit) - MaximusAurelius
