I didn’t realize who that was

I still love that movie. I think it’s because it came out when I was 9, but I still enjoy watching it every year around Christmas more than I should probably admit

You might want to scooch over. You did the right thing!

Jury duty, jury duty, eviction notice, pink slip, jury duty, jury duty

Gets me everytime

I think those guys actual $ owed is less than their cap hits, which will make them tradable.

If he signed in Toronto the hate would be strong the last few years of the deal.

Not by much. Only 1 million signing bonus each this year.

Meh, deal with those years when they come up. The Leafs have gotten good at two things:

1. Signing bad contracts.

2. Getting those bad contracts off the books.

I think that by insisting on bonuses in last years of contract, buying him out would have bigger cap. It’s still a “deal with it when it comes up” issue but with maybe a bit more bite.

My lord, Eks double header rumour is pure BS. Was he watching MLB when his alter ego suggested it as a rumour?

Could be a bit of an issue. But my argument is that we are worrying about something that isn't expected to occur for 4-5 years and may never occur at all. (Pietrangelo significantly regressing)

Focus on improving the team in the next three years to make a cup run. Figure out the rest in the next 3 year plan.

Anybody watching this series and thinking, "is this playoff hockey? How much better are these teams than the Leafs (and 50% of the league)?"
- gravyface

I thought the playoffs in general looked far less intense and violent without the fans there. It's not the same.

I agree, Not many players bleeding, which is not normal. More intensity in the early rounds.

Nice version of this song. Fripp was the guitarist on the original track

I actually thought the NHL did a way better job to create a 'playoff athmosphere' than I thought what would be possible..
In particular for the Edmonton rink.
Considering the limitations, I'd give them an A for execution on this.

Don't sign Pietrangelo.
Having a bad feeling on how that signing would pan out; he'll get slower and since he's not excellent on the defensive side, I think he'll look worse and worse very quickly. He's a great defender now, but in 2 years might look quite bad already (in particular considering the caphit)

Oh it was well done and they proved my prediction wrong, but I think it just was a notch below playoff intensity. It showed how much the fans are part of the game.

While I agree that the contract could end up being bad on the back half. The Leafs need to push now to do something, they have the next 3-4 years with jt/mm/am locked up. similar D age/impact Josi, Carlson, Doughty are signed until 2026+ at 8+

Its hard to know what players will still be effective 35+, but he should be very good for the next 3-4

And he wouldnt cost assets to sign, and they can flip someone out for futures. Makes more sense than trading for someone.

of course if the numbers are 8.5 and up, dont think its possible anyways.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings by posting a personal opinion.
I get you're here for the 'retweets' of other posters of what Lebrun says?

If Lebrun is right (nobody's taking $$ in trades) then the Leafs best case scenario might be saving a couple million in net and grabbing a FA dman in that 4-5 Milly range.

Its not as intense and you miss the crowd noise and involvement.
But yes the play is better than how the leafs currently playm
