I thought that bonuses helped make it a bit escrow proof?
- GreatGigInTheSky

Bonuses are still subject to escrow. (I think)

But are bonuses only subject to escrow in the years that they're paid out?

ie. with Covid, could we see the advent of the backloaded contract where teams pay very little up front a and guarantee huge signing bonuses in years where it's estimate teams will earn more.

43 in December. ~198/6'2".
- gravyface

8 at that weight and age - I applaud you, Sir.

I'm 6'3/227 myself and lucky if I can manage 3/4 of those now...

Really?
I remember clearly that one guy did 23 and the next 21. I think I was 3rd.

My most was 15 at age 18, weighed about 160, I'm 6'. I trained pretty hard for a mountaineering course called Outward Bound in Kelowna in those days

Kyle Napoleon Bonaparte, lost in the play-in against Russia
- Canada Cup

he made 2 mistakes:

- was too focused on putting the old man pope in italy out of job; and proving he had a better way of doing things with a secular society.

- was too reliant on taking more shots with his cannons. needed better defense around them.

Judging from what I've read, yes...and yes to the second part too.

That's totally what'll happen. Escrow is big (20%) in years 1 and 2 so everybody will be minimizing salary in the first two years.

Sure helps with that 160. My pain in the ass was my long arms.
My 13 helped me into an elite military group though. Best time in my life!

Well, there's not too many asians here in the old world

I was about 195 age 18 and between 215 and 235 ever since.

I was a tiny kid but grew a foot at 18. I was very athletic and a great runner but had weakass arms. So I had these thunder thighs (and a huge ass for a small guy ) that made me a great long distance runner but I failed hard at lifting myself up in those things.

I've no clue. I just thought I remember people not being happy about all the bonuses the Leafs were giving out and not just because most other teams can't do it.

I thought I remembered something about escrow but maybe not.

Are you guys talking about straight pull ups?

I do 2 x 15 at the end of a full back/bicep day...but I'm 6'2" 178....so I'm light-ish. (although I no longer have a "4" in front of my age )

There's a gamble any way you look at it. The money's worth something right now. After the last pandmic in 1918 -

in the years from 1922 to 1923 there was a period of "hyper inflation" Not saying it will happen again, but who knows things are (frank)ed up.

Just imagine paying player salaries with a single bill that isn't worth enough to buy a cup of coffee!

Its a great enticement giving bonus money out to sign a UFA but at the end of the day its still a cap hit of between $8.5 and $10 mil per for 7 years. This will put the Leafs in cap problems until it goes up in 3/4 years. To make this doable the Leafs will have to trade one of their expensive top 4 and finding a trading partner that will take on the cap hit will be harder then the Leafs and their fans believe. They won't get a return they would want or deserve.

No not at all, I was a runner in those days, had to work extra hard on arm strength.

Makar wins the Calder, as he should've.

Another of my predictions that's non Leafs related is correct.

I'm not sure bout the others, but I mean overhand grip - shoulder wide. If you do sets of 15 of those, you're a bad mother(frank)er. But of course you're like a feather

True Barb Story:

I cheated my score on the flexed arm hang in middle school when the gym teacher wasn't looking.

IIRC I put 61 seconds on the score card so I could lock in the Award of Excellence...or something like that...maybe the Gold.

I was a skinny little dude so when the gym teacher looked at my 61 second score he thought he would make an example out of me in front of the whole class. Trying to catch me in the lie.

"Great job on your flexed arm hang time Young Barb. Why don't you come do it again in front of the class so they can see your technique. For someone as....well, not muscular....as you are, your technique must be awesome."

Not gonna lie, sh1t my pants a bit. I'm sure my face went pale. And all the jocks we grinning. Nobody believed my score.

What did Barb do you ask?

I sh1t you not, without much hesitation, I walked up to the bar. Grab the bar. Pull up to eye level and hung on for dear life!!!

63 seconds later, I had the biggest "fu3k you all" look on my face, think I flipped a few kids off too. Gym teacher had no idea wtf happened or how my skinny ass even made it passed 10 seconds. He was so pissed it back fired on him.

I have no idea how...except for the threat of utter and absolute shame...but fear, adrenaline and absolute shame are hella good drugs I guess!
