478 cases in Ontario today.

And yes, I have the tracking device on my phone.

Gotta wonder if we get to the "melbourne" strategy. They shut down neighbourhoods (curfews, 5km max from house) when the second wave hit about 670 per day there. After about 8 weeks they dropped back down to 11 per day.

Love to see all the youngsters at Citiplace locked up for 8 weeks!

Sounds pretty unfalsifiable to me. Just how |connected" are they? Are there leaks within the Leafs mgmt team that are being exploited? I doubt it. I'm sure they may be smarter than most of us here but they sure as poop don't have any legit answers unless there is, again, a leak.

The Leafs free up 6.9M in cap space by trading Willie. The acquiring team takes on his cap hit but only pays 2.5M in actual salary. Win-Win!

- mjones242

A lot more connected than you or I, before even going anywhere else... Let's just acknowledge that teams use them as a method of getting information out there when they so desire, so do agents and more than likely players.

To suggest a guy like Pierre Lebrun is sitting in his basement on his laptop just throwing stuff out there is pretty absurd.

So what, the Leafs are going to be able to trade Willie outright and get... Draft picks back?

You and I seem to be having the daily debate, but the new topics that come out of it and your positions on them are ever becoming more 'out there' if you will. You haven't hit AA levels... But wowzie.

I would agree that both are undesirable deals on some teams, but not all. I would think a deal like the one Vegas has with MAF $7M cap hit and $6M real dollars presents a greater challenge, especially after humiliating him and puking in his corn flakes after he carried them for a couple of seasons.

Agreed. A situation like the Fleury one right now would handcuff everything.

Yeah, Fleury is not getting moved. There are too many younger cheaper goalies available. They'd have a tough time even if there were no revenue losses.

NHL has to figure out soon their schedule because teams have to know what approx their revenue will be.
- RogerRoeper

the nhl is in the same boat has anyone else. it's very difficult to plan with any amount of certainty much more than 2 months ahead.

they'll use as much time as they can before finalizing a schedule. makes no sense to put anything in stone early.

I don't think we can afford more than about $8M.

I know that's below what he can fetch elsewhere, but sorry, them's da breaks.

Let's see if he really wants to play in Toronto.

Get Canadian Tire to sit in on the meeting.

And Tim Horton's.

And CIBC.

And CanaCabana.

I think he has to be moved, but they will likely need to retain at least 40% of his cap hit.. Isn't Lehner still signing that 5 year deal with Vegas?

So here's the question:

If the Leafs tell them they have $56M over 7 years to give him, here's a computer with an excel spreadsheet, you and your agent structure it any way you want it, does that get a deal done?

- Atomic Wedgie

Depends who else is out there shopping. If the Blues are 8 x 8 with no NMC and no bonus cash and they're not playing ball with helping him avoid 20% escrow in years 1 and 2 ...then I think the Leafs (and others) will be prepared to make him happy. I think it'd take more than 8 million per year though.

Ultimately I think it'll come down to giving him everything he needs contractually but also convincing him that the Leafs will be competing for Cups.

Leafs should target Leddy.
He'd be a good add to Leafs top4 D.
Islanders can take Dermott and his speedo.

What teams have players of taht calibre taht don't give out those?
- RogerRoeper

Apparently, St. Louis doesn't like to give out full NMCs.

Finally some good news, they can’t win when they need too but at least we don’t have to buy them out.
- Garnie

hey - we only can't buyout kefoot because of the bonus money. he's eligible for a 1/3 buyout on his salary. we threw away the get of jail card on that one.

Still fishing with this eh?
I'm sure you'll get bites.

But if Leddy is so good, why would the Isles trade him for Dermott?

Lehner denied those reports. They really need to see if they can move Fleury before committing to that.

I never suggested that Pierre Lebrun is sitting in his basement on his laptop just throwing stuff around. I'm saying that there's no (frank)ing way Lebrun knows a thing about the Leafs plans on Alex Pietrangelo. None. It's pure speculation.

The Leafs can't let any info out on AP for risk of getting severely fined/punished.

Willie can certainly be traded for draft picks and other assets. Are you suggesting that trading him has to see the Leafs getting NHL ready players in return?

Dude, I'm going to ignore the ad hominem and just suggest this for you: we fundamentally disagree on Petro and what moves the Leafs can make. I don't think there's anything I've said that is "absurd", but sure -- you're welcome to assert your opinion that I'm AA-like in my posiitons.

You can choose to engage with me or not. I just find that I disagree with a lot of your opinions which you seem to regurgitate on a daily basis. To be fair, I obviously feel it necessary to regurgitate my own theories in response. Nobody is perfect.
