A lesser known fact about Jeff Healey is that he was also a trad jazz trumpet player. That's actually where I saw him, with his jazz band in the basement bar on Front St. that was either attached to a restaurant called 'C'est What?' or was beside it. Not sure if that place is even there anymore, haven't been in that area of the city in ages. He played old swing jazz stuff from the 30's, Jelly Roll Morton tunes, early Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, etc. I love all that stuff. He never touched a guitar and you could tell he loved that music.

Never met him, but any interview Ive seen him in, he seemed exactly like that.

You do not, under any circumstance trade Marner at 23. His best years are ahead of him. When has trading a player this good at that age worked-out for the team?

Also, Marner's cap hit will be loked at differently when Laine, Point Ktachuk sign their new deals soon enough.

Yup. Seguin, Hall, Thornton (Although he was 26). It's rare because it's so damn risky. Seth Jones was traded so young, but Nashville felt because of their crappy forwards and strong D they could afford it. It's bombed on them bad.

Marner had 94 points 2 years ago. In a shortened season where he was supposedly "bad", he was on pace for 93 points. He also was 21 and 22 during those seasons...

Forget about cap hits argument, it'll be nothing compared to backlash when Marner competes for an Art Ross with his next team.

And again, once the guys who took 2 and 3 year deals sign again people will look at his deal differently.
