I think we are a couple of weeks away from not having to trade him.
My guess is we are not going to give him an offer, and he walks as a UFA.
I hope he gets a fresh start somewhere else. - Atomic Wedgie
I actually think Bracco may get a shot this year as theyll need low salaried players.

I think Leaf fans really need to take some time to review Marner's numbers so far and stop and think a bit before they trade him. - Zezel
Nylander miles before Marner. Marner makes the line, Nylander rides it. |

I get it, but usually the team that gets the best player in the deal wins the deal.
In this scenario, Marner is the best player in the deal by significant margin.
Dermott is only 23, dmen take longer to develop. If the Leafs trade him, theyll end up regretting it IMO. - Archaic
I wouldn't hold my breath. Dermott is, at best, mediocre and likely never eclipses 3rd pairing duties.
Sandin has a much higher ceiling and deserves a chance to show his stuff. Dermott is simply in his way. |

Not sure why you think this. When he had to take higher minutes with Rielly and Muzzin out he looked great. |

I don't think it's with the Leafs. Seems to be a burned bridge that has developed with him here (unless there are personal reasons I'm unaware of?). |

Did he? I didn't think he looked particularly improved or effective. He doesn't move the needle much. He doesn't seem capable of driving plays and doesn't have a physically imposing presence or game. |

Good times, I've been considering going out and buying a couple of slabs just to keep around and dry out for when I get the time to start building, maybe next summer
Doing the neck for the Jr as well? making a neck scares me a bit |

Marner for Pesce straight up!
It's sad that this is the world we are in for hockey and sports. The cap hit is a bigger talking point than the players stats or capabilities.
I'd like to see Dubas go GRR Martin and trade Rielly or Marner. |

Les Paul Jr?? you have a Tele. And, with the price of the wood, it will be natural. |

He took time off for "personal reasons."
Not sure what that was, and I don't want to speculate, but it leads me to believe a fresh start is best for him, and the Leafs are usually pretty good about that sort of thing.
He wasn't on the taxi squad for the bubble team, which is also a pretty good indication he's not part of their plan moving forward. |

In some ways the cap has made things rather sad. The player just gets known for it more than their actual stats. I'm sure players hate that. I have no idea why they agreed to a hard cap.
I miss the good old days where cap hits didn't exist. |

I read because of testing and the amount tested that it seems like the numbers are higher but in percentages they are not. It was something like 17% in May but now it's 1% |
