Neither of those 2 were NHL ready after their respective draft years, nor did either have the expectations that Crouse had in that stacked 2015 Draft. I’d say based on his performance and contract extension, the Flyers are pretty happy with Laughton right now.

Ok there. Flyers are certainly happy with the player they’ve gotten in Laughton. Rubtsov hasn’t gotten to where they’d would’ve liked, although he’s dealt with some injuries. If we’re going to look back at his draft year from what I recall, there was a drop off after him and Max Jones that went to Anaheim.

They’re going to be something like 40-50 million over the cap next off season and are going to have to cut lots of salary and players. A higher draft pick might not be the worst thing for this team going forward.

Agree. Especially the way he plays the games. Our expectations have to change. If he was six two, two ten this wouldn’t be a conversation. The again if he was that big he would’ve been more dominant.

The wear and tear on a smaller frame takes its toll. He will slowly slide down the lineup over the next few years. But he still has sense and hands.
