They don't need to do any of that. They just need to be patient and let the young players grow. Lindblom was scoring at a 30 goal pace at the time of his illness. Farabee is going to be a very good player. Konecny is going to keep getting better. Did you read Bill's blog today? One of the biggest reasons why TB and Dallas are in the finals is due to how good their depth is. TB probably has the best role players in hockey. Who are the snipers in the Dallas lineup? - MJL
Draft and development. Keep kicking the can down the road. The flip side you never mention is those player you mention don’t have to improve. They can just as easily stay he Same the rest of their career |

My only concern is are you still trying to build around G and Voracek? Because waiting on kids to develop at this point in their career is not leaving much of a window for those guys.
I would love for the scoring issues to be solved internally and I do like our kids. I just think As a whole they’re not keeping up with the rest of the league in terms of forward speed and skill. |

I don't think they are. I see them building around Couturier, Provorov and Hart.

Radulov, Benn, Seguin, Hintz - 2Real
Seguin led the Stars this season with a whopping 50 points. He has sacrificed some points to be a more complete player; a process that Ken Hitchcock started. He had high scoring years before and can still score more than what he did this year but he has changed his game a bit (to the Stars' benefit).
Benn, who is the same age as JVR and a year younger than Giroux, is now two years removed from his last 30-goal season and had 19 goals and 39 points this season. Has averaged 0.623 points per game over the last two seasons.
Hintz is not a profile scorer by any means. Underrated player, though.
Radulov has great hands and is very hard to take off the puck. But he has never had a 30-goal or 75-point NHL season, either in Nashville or Dallas. He is also 34 years old now.

Giroux plays a similar game to Thornton who was still effective until he was 39-40. There is no reason to be concerned about Giroux. Even looking at someone like Jagr,he was able to stay in the league at a much older age because of his workout routine and commitment. From what I hear Giroux is pretty committed in his workouts. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Thornton is a shoe in for the Hall of Fame and can’t be messed with due to his size. |

Who is their Couturier? Who is their Hayes?
Hintz is more of their Lindblom than their Raffl.
Yes, I would take Benn over JVR. No question.
I'd take Seguin right now over Giroux right now, mainly because he is 3 years younger, but career vs. career, I would take Giroux. One is a playmaker, the other a shooter, so it's not really apples to apples.
Wish the Flyers had their own Heiskanen to add to Provorov, but it is what it is. |

Pavelski > Hayes
Does comparing to Couturier really matter at this point now? The Dallas wingers are much better than what we have
Since you talk about defense
Heiskanen = Provorov
Klingberg >>>>>>>> Ghost
Olsekiak > Haag
Lindell > Braun
Myers and Sanheim need more experience to compare

Career vs. career, definitely Pavelski over Hayes. Right now, though? Hayes is in his prime, Pavelski is 36, and Hayes had the better RS. Pavelski has stepped up in the playoffs but so did Hayes.

How much does a Couturier or Hayes matter, if Dallas is exactly where we want to be in dominating fashion? |

They look completely dysfunctional. The party is over. At least we got the super bowl. They’ve been trending downward since the moment they hoisted the trophy. |

Pavelski isn't counted on to be the man so he could save his energy for the playoffs
also the wingers in Dallas are light years better

he is on a one year deal worth $792,500. Its silly to assume that he is a lock for the lineup simply because he signed here, especially at that number and term.

It’s not silly. I don’t think he leaves Sweden to play in the AHL. It’s more silly to think he won’t be on the opening night roster. He doesn’t make the roster he goes back to euro imo. His low cap hit makes it even more of a lock
Either way the lineup is pretty much set bearing any move as |

Here is the rub. The flyers have to play him on the top line as they have no other replacements really. If they could utilize him more properly yes he can likely be productive. At this stage of his career going against the top d every night doesn't help him - login
They dont have to play him on the top line. Flyers have a lot of depth and guys who have Chemistry. Our lineup could be
Lindblom-Couturier-Voracek
G-Hayes-Konecny
JVR-Laughton-Farabee
Raffl-Thompson\FA-Pitlick\NAK
If you want to get crazy you can always switch G and Laughton as Laughton played well with Hayes(I think they were together) |
