to Healey, Stevie and Grossmans. Have you seen the pics of El Mocambo? Looking pretty slick. Hopefully the guy doesn’t go bust after putting all that $ in. - Canada Cup
El Mocambo looking great - but the timing for re-opening is not great. Might be some time before concert crowds are back, Unless everyone attends in hazmat suits, not sure if we'll see concerts for a couple of years. I don't mind if Stub hub and ticketmaster go tits up, as long as I get the $600 they owe me from tickets purchased.

Another stupid argument is "if Petro gets injured our d core is exactly where we started".
A key to winning the cup is staying healthy. If you get unlucky and get too many injuries you likely aren't winning the cup anyways. - Santo_44
Not true, teams with depth find a way to win.
Weve already seen it. |

No. You're only stupid if you don't try to add Petro.
He's literally and figuratively exactly what the Leafs need and yet there are those bemoaning how this signing would hurt the "depth" of the team. |

A Norris caliber RHD, a leader on and off the ice, played a significant role in winning a Cup, is actually available.
Nah, sign DeMelo and Gudas. That’s good enough...

Would be awesome to see Gudas against Boston's top line in the playoffs |

Well ya...its sports.
Teams with elite talent find a way to lose to.
But its better to have quality depth than not |

How about Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thorton and the team at NASA step up before the asteroid hits |

As everyone has said.
But the cost not only in cap but who may have to be moved out is always a factor.
We'll see though
Lots can change in the next two weeks |

The other question will be are they prepared to sign someone they can never trade and probably can’t buy out. |

Imagine being stupid enough to not know that the only reason the Leafs weren't in the playoffs was because of Covid.
Making the playoffs in a season not (frank)ed by a pandemic will be easy for this team. Actually winning anything is the question mark. |

My main point is still it's not good cap management in a flat cap world for the next couple yrs. to invest that much money and term.. in a older player.
- dozerD10
Here is the reality in a cap world. At some point in time, as a GM, you have to go for it. If your team doesn't get there and doesn't make a run at it when a team is in the position the Leafs are in, you won't be the GM in a few years. Someone else will have your job. So if the Leafs can find a way to add Pietrangelo without doing too much damage to their depth, then they have to do it. Adding a legitimate top pairing all situations defenseman can make a major impact on a team. At some point the future of the cap has to be thrown aside.

His family cottage was 5 down from my dads family cottage when he was a kid. He used to see him all the time. - GreatGigInTheSky
A lesser known fact about Jeff Healey is that he was also a trad jazz trumpet player. That's actually where I saw him, with his band in the basement bar on Front St. that was attached to a restaurant called 'C'est What?'. Not sure if that place is even there anymore, haven't been in that area of the city in ages. He played old swing jazz stuff from the 30's, Jelly Roll Morton tunes, early Louis Armstrong etc. I love that stuff. He never touched a guitar and you could tell he loved that music. |
