I'd prefer OEL over Pietrangelo.

That's a hard no from me.

Afraid I'm gonna have to disappoint you there; I don't think he's that bad. He knows quite a bit bout hockey and there's worse besserwissers in here than him imho.

Not being the outright worst here is still really, really bad.

AA's shtick is that Willy has so little value that teams don't even want him, which is obviously nonsensical gibberish. It's tradition at this point, like 'any Habs rumours' or '6-1 Leafs', it's not an actual take.
- Zezel

Why do you do this Zezel?

Do you think ppl are stupid enough that if you leave out most of what I said, that you’ll look smart?

No one wants him at 6.9mil. The book is out on him not being defensively reliable. He got paid to drive a line, and to be able to play C. But he can do neither.

Jeezy Pete’s..

Don’t bother responding if you’re going to be like this. Idk what happened to you man.

Well to me yes Parakyo is younger, bigger and stronger and better than both Reilly, by not much... and Muzz by quite a bit.

Look AP helps a great deal.. No doubt.. my issue is big money and term to a 31yr old ... no matter how well or gracefully he ages.

Add to that the pieces needed to be moved to fit him in. And the possibility of hamstrung with the contract later.

- dozerD10

This is a patently absurd position to take. If AP ages "gracefully" then who cares about age?

Will the Leafs need to move out a contract to fit him in? Sure. But I'd much rather have AP on this team than, say, William Nylander.

There's no way Parayko is better than Rielly. I'd also disagree that he's better by "quite a bit" over Muzzin. But that's not the point, is it? You seem to be saying that AP will decline necessarily because players like Rielly and Muzzin wouldn't be able to shoulder some of the load of hard minutes that AP would, presumably, be saddled with.

That's quite a bold statement to make. It's unfalsifiable but I'll reject it anyway. I think AP is a phenomenal athlete and I don't see how playing on the Leafs would somehow make him age faster or decline harder with the pieces currently in place.

Leafs would be dumb to pass this opportunity up.

Wtf are you talking about? As it stands now, that contract has phenomenal value.

He didn't get paid to "drive a line" or to able to play C. AM34, Snake, and MM got paid that money (for one or both reasons). Willie is getting paid complementary-player money and, last season, he was (frank)ing fantastic.

Players like Bonne Jenner, Lawson Crouse, Josh Anderson, Sam Blaise need to be targeted. There are a few decent right handed dman in Ufa this year. If you can get Pietro I think you do it but I'm not heartbroken if they go a different route. A lot of options this year if we're willing to be patient with our drafting. Travis Hamonic, Justin Schultz, Trevor Van Riemsdyk, Sam Vatanen. Not to mention the plethora of lefties to choose from. Upgrades Neve hurt.

Just admit that Nylander is good and his contract is actually fair value and this can all be over. Say it.

🤦🏻‍♂️

Just stop.

There’s more to the game than tapping in JT feeds.

He’s probably the worst defensive player playing a top 6 role in the NHL.

I think Rielly is easily better than Parayko. Parayko can defend better.

Also, Rielly is younger than him.

Show me on the doll where Nylander touched you, and describe it in extremely explicit detail.

Lawson Crouse would be great. Wondering if the Leafs could package up Andersen and pick(s) for him and Kuemper.

Josh Anderson worries me. Seems potentially Clarkson(ish).

He’s never on the ice for defensive zone draws, yet he’s the only (-) player in the top 6.

Those are pretty nice though, aren't they? Perimeter Willie seems to score a lot of goals in close.

Who knew?!

Nylander was arguably the Leafs' most consistent player this year after Matthews. Many nights he was their best player.

John Tavares was a -7. Definitely a terrible, terrible player in the defensive zone.

Cuz, you know, +/- is totally a legit and useful stat!

Don't get me wrong, I love having an irrational hate on a player every year - you all saw my work on Komarov.

But you're off on this one.

If you look at the compilation of goals from this year, there's like one or two tap-ins. And AA says this like scoring a tap-in in the NHL is easy lol

It's similar to the year before when people said Marner gave Tavares tap-ins. Completely undermining the work of the one scoring the goals.

Was there a few tap-ins? Yeah, of course there was. But the vast majority of it was good hard work from the one scoring the goals.
