There's a ton of that going on right now. I don't watch a lot of TV lately, but the moat recent Trump ads are dramatizations of people calling 911 and nobody being able to answer if Biden is elected.

Personally I think Trump is a little extra as far as stirring up fears and then saying only he can protect us from the bogeymen, but that's about all American political campaigns are these days, stir up fears about the other side. I guess maybe Trump is better at it would be another way of putting it.

Of course 5 years of Democrats saying you have to vote for them because Trump is immoral and you are too if you vote for him completely misses the boat.

But yeah, the whole fear thing got ratcheted up a ton with RBG's death since the Supreme Court drives a ton of people's votes. And I agree with the idea it's going to be so much worse immediately after the election.

Yeah, I just cant help but feel we're all being purposely divided and to turn on each other. To be polarized on so many issues. Even up here I feel it.

To me, from all the different medias and things I read, this appears to me as a right wing fear monger subject. Just like in Canada, the right push financial fears (among others) and the left push social issue fears (among others). What do you base this statement on as a fellow Canadian?
- MattStrat

Because the left has adopted extremely anti American ideology.

I am not a big political guy. I dont have a political party I subscribe to. But it is very clear that in both the US and Canada the Liberal and Democratic governments are committed to this idea of buying votes, pandering to the social media majority rather than focusing on real problems.

I want to live in a world where everyone competes on an even field and no one gets a free ride. The financial piece matters, especially for Canada. No one needs us and we don't have a presence in any industry that would have the world rely on us. We could find ourselves in a Greece situation if we dont straighten out.

End political rant///

JR needs to hustle up and move Murray. He has to go prior to free agency or we are going to risk letting him walk. FA goalies are going to go cheap, this is one year where there is no advantage negotiating with RFAs, especially arbitration eligible.

I smoked a Brisket this weekend, probably the best I've ever done. 11 hours at 230-250 degrees, will be eating it every day for the next week...

Have you ever smoked burgers? I got into smoking withing the last year and by far my favorite thing to smoke is burgers. I tried smoking wings but every time they end up with tough skin. The meat falls off the bone and tastes amazing but the skin....
Any suggestions?

Yohe put out a list of potential FA options... a lot of the same guys weve talked about plus at least one we havent mentioned...

Tanev
Shattenkirk
Fast
Smith
Braun

I still really like Fast as an option. Yohe says Pens really like him.

I don't think we've mentioned Braun here, but shipping JJ out, Braun-POJ would be a nice 3rd pair

I like Fast but he's a RW so not sure where he fits. The Pens already have Rust, Kap, Horn and Tanev on the RW.

Generally speaking everything they support is anti constitutional. If the left has a moral compass, it’s broken.

Sous vide wings before frying (even in an air fryer is the best imo)

I wouldn’t want to invest any amount of money and term in Justin Braun but if he could be had for under $2 mil for like one or two years we could do worse. If we’re investing money/term in another RD, is want it to be Shattenkirk, but I’m skeptical we could afford him and if we could, I know I’m sounding like a broken record here but, that money is better spent elsewhere.

Fast would be as solid a third line wing we could get from free agency but that would really beg the question of what the hell to do with Hornqvist. The roster construction of the wings would start to get wonky with an overload of RWs. That said, if Poulin were able to make the roster and carry over the scorer’s me touch People have been raving about, Poulin-McCann-Fast would be a really balanced line. McCann and Fast are fast and defensively responsible enough to make up for any short comings Poulin has in those two departments if Poulin can be the scorer on that line.

Never smoked burgers before, my brother in law will wrap them in bacon and smoke them, then make a chili with the drippings.

I love smoked wings, I go 225 for 1.5 hours and at the same time get the grill going as hot as possible. Just a quick grill, covered, about 5 minutes at 500 degrees and the skin gets really nice.

I'm not hardcore, I go pellet, lazy man smoking. It turns out really good for me with limited work.

Id love to see a party that was stricktly for the constitution. This 2 party system is flawed and they bicker back n forth.

No wrong choice. I just got a grill last week. It’s gas because I have a gas line running to my deck but it came with a smoker box. Will probably do a pulled pork soon.

Interesting. I was thinking a third line of Tanev-McCann-Fast/Smith would be really solid. And Poulin could fit on the 4th with Blueger and whomever. But to your point...whatever moves we make or line combos we put together, we should do it with an emphasis on bottom 6 scoring.

Sad to say it, as I've generally liked ZAR more than most, but I think we'd be better served with a faster, more offensively capable replacement.

That third line would be a pretty standard shut down third line which isn’t what we need. We need scoring support first and foremost out of the third line. Fast can put up points, but if he’s your more offensive wing on a line, that lines not gonna score much.

Salt, Pepper, a very small amount of garlic and onion powder.

Brisket is hard... the first time I cooked it I bough this beautiful huge piece that cost a fortune and it turned out like poop. I only do it once in a blue moon when it is on sale super cheap or we are having a party. This is the first time it has turned out finger pull perfect.

My family had a small farm in southern Alberta, enough meat and produce for family/friends. My grandpa built a log cabin for a smoke shack to smoke whole animals while they hang. It was the beat meat I ever ate. Everything smoked!

Some people are purists, but I completely agree. Even just a little smoke adds so much flavor. Love pork shoulder and ribs in the smoker.
