Demelo seems to come up every where as this buy low candidate, but I think he ends up being somewhat in demand and gets paid more than we'll offer for a team that wants a top 4 righty, say around 3M. He'd be worth it, but don't think we can or should make that deal.

Yeah, it's so hard to gauge value right now because of everything. I feel there will be no consistency in what happens this off-season.

I think the only things that are clear are GMJR wants to add a RD and he's going to trade someone to create space.

I don't even think McCann makes sense for a cap dump for a RD because they'd just have to replace him. They talk as if their top 6 forwards and top 4 defensemen are set.

That leaves JJ, Hornqvist, and Tanev IMO. I definitely don't think it's Tanev. Since a couple RWs are on Yohe's list I'm guessing Hornqvist if they can.

Tanev isn't going anywhere. JR is far too proud of that signing.

Yes, he SAYS he loves their top-six and top-four, but I can envision him still moving someone from either of those groups because HE personally wants said player. JR gets total tunnel vision when he wants something, for good or for bad. If he wants to move Hornqvist to get an RD then that's terrible asset management, but hey, why stop now?

I've made it clear I think they should move Hornqvist, but if it's to spend significant money on a player who's going to get JJ'd then it's just hurting the bottom-six depth which currently needs to be upgraded more than than the third pair.

The smart moves even if you like the players are A) move JJ because you have 2 cheaper internal options with upside, or B) Hornqvist because you can get a 3 RW cheaper and use the savings elsewhere.

I'd do A all day, any of us would. B gives me pause because I think Hornqvist is vital to the PP and his loss will be felt far more than Kessel's, but I don't think he'll repeat his ES offense and I'm not sure Sully uses him on the PP anyways making that a poor use of over 5 M.

As much I want Hornqvist to be moved, I don't think he's a player who hurts this team. I just don't think he helps enough to justify his contract, so I go with "A" all day every day. Moving JJ is addition by subtraction.

In general when you're in a cap pinch you move what you have a surplus of and they have a surplus of LDs compared to available starting spots. Then you look at what player who's cap-hit doesn't justify his position and if there's a suitable cheaper replacement and you make your decision. Even if JJ was decent you still him based on that.

Seriously. Can we stop the politics? Pretty please, with a cherry on top? Nobody on here is changing anyone else's mind.

I can’t share a mental possession of a team with a bunch of liberal frenchies

I don’t expect much more to happen. Murray traded for scraps, 1 meh depth forward signing and 1 mediocre RD signing that has a contract like tanev’s. That’s about it and as mentioned there is no point in trying with jj on the team still.

Anybody who has seen the wickedness of dementia, knows Joe Biden won't be president in two years if elected. I don't even think he has a year, but they'll likely hide him for a while. His decline is rapid. Slurred speech. Barely coherent sentences. A doctor would take his drivers license away with the symptoms he's presenting. It's quite sad his family didn't intervene and put a stop to it.

It will be a Harris, AOC administration.

- madmike71

His time was 2016. He would've won easily had he won. I certainly understand why he didnt, but still... Clinton vs Trump is something I think will take a decade+ to truly recover from.

It's going to be Harris's show from Day 1. Biden will trot out there every once in a while, but I see the Admin being like Weekend at Bernie's...

My only hope is Republicans hold the Senate. I'm not a fan of Republicans or Democrats so a split government sounds good to me.

I smoked a Brisket this weekend, probably the best I've ever done. 11 hours at 230-250 degrees, will be eating it every day for the next week...

Running it a a bit too high. After you break the plateau, you want to hold around 175 for as long as possible. I go 218-225 for brisket.

A joke? You obviously aren't into politics. Better keep on the hockey talk.
