Governments have been buying mortgage back securities and now own almost a majority of them. They are buying that debt in order to keep mortgage rates low. Now due to interest rates being so low people are flocking to real estate, hence why the housing market has been able to stay afloat.
We are literally living in an epic sized housing and stock market bubble.
Hence my confidence in commodities in the medium to long term as even Powell has said multiple times they are going to try their best to let inflation run rampant to inflate away all of the debt they have created.
I can’t tell you when things will happen, the markets are going to do whatever they are going to do in the short term. Best we can do is react to what happens. - Pegullaville
I had money in 6 month CD's and they were up, and weren't making much anyway so I moved that to Savings for now because I don't trust the market. |

My most realistic attempt at a Sabres lineup for next season is below. The cap hit would be $79.9M, and that includes the overages from last season.
Olofsson $4.25M - Eichel $10M - Reinhart $6.5M
Skinner $9M - Staal $3.25M - Cozens $900K
Kahun $2.5M - Dylan Strome $3.4M - Craig Smith $4.5M
Kyle Clifford $1.75M - Lazar $800K - Okposo $6M
Extra Forward Tage Thompson $800K
Dahlin $925K - Miller $3.875M
Jon Merrill $2M - Ristolainen $5.4M
McCabe $2.85M - Jokiharju $925K
Joakim Ryan $990K - Jan Rutta $850K
Ullmark $2.5M
Khudobin $3M
The only trade I made was sending Montour and Mittelstadt to Chicago for Dylan Strome and the Flames 2020 3rd round pick.
I toyed with idea of trading Montour for Saad, as that's been heavily rumored, but Saad is a one year rental, and I prefer the idea of a long term Center being brought in.
I signed Craig Smith for RW help, and Kyle Clifford for 4th line LW help.
I signed Khudobin as a UFA goaltender to push Ullmark.
All contracts were estimated using Evolving Hockey's predictions. |

Seems like they’re trying to find a few trade partners before signing Sam but nothing concrete at the moment. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Anderson (Josh and Craig) make their way here |

Welcome back Beezer.
Hoping they go for Craig Smith and Khudobin, but I fear Khudobin might be too expensive. |

I'd prefer to trade Ristolainen for futures (picks/prospects) and replace him with DeMelo, but it seems clear they're not moving on from him. |

I wonder if Dallas retains Khudobin at this point.
Maybe they make Bishop expendable |

That's entirely possible, as is the cost of signing Khudobin being more than $3M. |

Bishop's contract is interesting as even though his cap hit is $4.9M, he's only owed $1M next season due to his $2.5M bonus already having been paid. He's only owed $3.5M the 2 seasons after that.

He played pretty good when he came back, getting up there in age though, but for the right price. You hear anything floating about Anderson and Korpisalo for a couple picks and a prospect. |

i'm thinking they'll try to land players on one-year deals unless they're upper-level...we need to remember that there's an expansion draft coming up |

Craig Smith will test free agency on Oct. 9, according to agent Kevin Magnuson.
"A three-year deal is our goal,” Magnuson said. “I think the number, because there are eight to 10 teams that have decent cap space, I think we won’t be too far off at the end of the day. He’s not going to be signing any blockbuster deals, but at the same time, he’s going to be in the market or a little bit above it, I think." Smith has spent his entire career with the Nashville Predators, while skating in 661 regular-season matches and 52 playoff contest. He was selected in the fourth round by the Predators in 2009. He had 18 goals and 31 points in 69 outings last year. |
