I think I’m being a tad harsh on Sanderson, and that he may have a good shot at going before us which would just push one of the forwards down which would be nice. |

I don’t think he stinks. He’s fine on the 4th line. - Sabretooth9
Agreed. Pencil him in as 4th line center. He's a fine 4th line player with a minimal cap hit and wins faceoffs. Maybe with some grooming a decent penalty killer in the future, 9-11 minutes a night. |

I mean Stevie Y did draft Point.
Pretty hard not to see a lot of Point in Rossi - Pegullaville
What are your thoughts on Jarvis? I’ve seen Point comparisons scattered around various internet comment sections. This is assuming Sanderson and Lundell and the other top rated kids go 1-11, but from the one highlight reel I saw, I wouldn’t be mad if FL took him at twelve. But, I know next to nothing about others around him in 10-15 range. |

Actually, owners in many teams hear about trades before they happen and I'd love to see that quote. - GilPerreault11
I believe it was in his presser, or on WGR the next day, not sure.
In any event,I heard it as well. |

That was my hope that both D go 4-7. Last couple of drafts had surprises in them with Kotkaniemi going 3rd in 19 Seider going 6th last year. You just never know

I can't find if it is true but I read that Jarvis had a crazy run to end the season.
Something like 60 points in his last 25 games.
That would mean he still had 30+ points in his first 23 games. |

I don’t remember many prospects in the WHL putting up 98 points in 58 games in their draft year. From a statistical point of view that’s elite.
He looks the part of a shooter and passer but has the same questions any smaller player faces.
Is he fast enough ? Is his skill high end enough to make up for the lack of size ?
I think he’d be a really good pick at 12 and would definitely stack the cupboard at the wing position.
I don’t think he makes it past Dubas and the Leafs at 15. |

Found it.
After a more down-to-earth first half, Jarvis absolutely exploded offensively for the Portland Winterhawks in the New Year. He had 35 points in 32 games (1.09 points/game) up until January 1st, a typical late-first rounder rate of production, but raised the bar to an absolutely dominant level with 63 points in 26 games (2.4 points/game) afterwards. He shot 15% in the first half compared to 22.5% afterwards– increased shooting luck seems to be part of the story, but Jarvis also raised his average shots/game from 3.09 to 4.62, signalling a clear increase in quality of play in the year 2020.
Jarvis’ final rate of production– 1.22 primary points per game and 1.69 total points per game– stacks up very favourably to top prospects out of the WHL in the past. 1.22 primary points/game is the third highest rate from any WHL player since 2008, with only Leon Draisaitl and Nic Petan having more. His 1.69 points/game is the third highest rate as well– this time, only Sam Reinhart and Petan had more. Most encouraging, however, is Jarvis’ level of even-strength production: his 55 even-strength primary points in 58 games is the highest per-game rate in our sample dating back to 2008.

When you make a major move at your job you tell your boss. They traded close to a 5 mil player for the 2nd line center they have been trying to get for years, telling the boss about the move is not anything out of the ordinary especially when the GM just got the job.
Every GM in the league would let their boss know this type of move was going down. This is a huge nothing.

I honestly think this draft at the top might have the best 1-10 since 2015.
Just gotta hope we aren’t the team that ends up with the Pavel Zacha of the lot.

I'm a supporter of Lazar's. He's from my hometown. He and his family are really nice people. Regardless of this, I think he brings good value to the Sabres for the 4th line/13th forward at $800K. Hopefully he can train to be a PK guy and add more value to the team.
Good signing. Adams is 2 for 2 in my books.
