An $8mil line instead of a $10mil line doesn’t buy us enough savings to spend on a top line player

The problem with the finances of that line is OKPOSO, and NOT whoever the other 2 are

- jdfitz77

Well that 2mill would help, how does it not, it is money you have that you otherwise wouldn't.

Everyone is assuming we’ll have to overpay Larsson & Girgs to keep them...
Why?

- jdfitz77

The doctor dropped you after you came out of your mom and your dad said “well now he’s retarded” and left.

Your mom smokes those $10 bag of cigarettes you can get at the Indian reservation and to this day still cooks you hungry man frozen dinners.

You’re the weird guy at highway truck stops

That’s where I disagree and actually make my point. The difference in a 8 mil player and 10 mil player is huge. That’s why I make this point because you need the top end talent.

The Sabres are hiring a "Manager of Fan Development"

Credit where credit is due, this was necessary. +1 for the Pegulas.

Before gerbe goes rock hard from the Pegula compliment, they need to show that they're actually useful AND the Pegulas need to actually listen to them.

Depends on the context.

The difference between Jeff Skinner and Jack Eichel is huge.

The difference between Sebastian Aho and Jack Eichel is not.

Holy crap!
Their friggin business model is comp, etely upside down.
That paragraph was definitely written by a Consultant with all the buzzwords to seem like they are taking a huge step.

Guys, it is really, really easy.
Invest in the hockey club to be better than everyone else....the fanbase will then start to regenerate.
Holy poop, lame as hell.

Vogl follows up:

Not long ago, the Sabres had to shoo fans away with a season-ticket waiting list. As the playoff drought has reached nine years and missteps have multiplied on and off the ice, they're now hiring a Manager of Fan Development to "strengthen the bond between the team and the community." It's an admirable admission of their deficiencies, but it's one that could've been easily avoided with competency.

I was told the Pegulas are amazing and have done only great things.

It's a job description, not really a public release of the position.

I swear, I am convinced that the only people who could screw up a hockey hotbed of fans, like a top 5 fanbase; is the Pegula's.

Buffalo constantly has one if the highest market shares of TV for the Playoffs, has an amazing youth hockey participation all built over the last 70 years by the Bisons and The Sabres....and in 9 short years they have completely alienated the fans to the point people break into cars to leave their tickets on another persons dash, lol.
Now, they determine that spending money on a lame-ass Manager of Fanbase is warranted.

Here's a friggin idea...hire good, talented people who have a clue and then get the hell out of the way. JC they are completely inept.
How they hell they became Biliionaides is beyond me...they should probably have 100's of Billions if the Sabres are any indication of their business sense.

Anybody that is actually good at this job will most likely end up quitting, because the Pegulas won't let them actually do what they do best.

They became billionaires because they operated in a market with little competition. When you're one of the only games in town, you don't have to do much on the "business" end. Oil will always be in demand and if you own land that you can drill with, you simply happen to own a very valuable asset.

Now if they start mining for commodities they’ll become trillionaires over the course of the next 20 years.

Idk about that
If u fly up, they do take your info & check on you
But if you’re only up for a few days or a week,
then there isn’t much they can do even if they did catch ya

No reason to miss a funeral- imo of course
Homie will have to decide that for himself
But I’m fairly sure he’d be fine

- jdfitz77

It is completely voluntary. If you sign up, they track you via text. If you walk by them at the elevator they will not follow you.

My brother did that when he flew back for work. It was basically like "Sir...sir...". He just kept walking, didn't look at them. They didn't follow him. Those people don't get paid enough to care.

Eichel has been the better even strength and power play scorer the past 2 seasons compared to Aho, and he was much better defensively last year than Aho.

Aho had 14% of his points scored in empty net situations 2 seasons ago, and had 42% of his points scored in either empty net situations or power play situations.

I agree that the difference between Aho and Eichel is not huge like it is between Skinner and Eichel, but I would still call the difference sizeable.

The sad part is with the covid they can’t see what a rabid fan base the bills would have coming off the playoff appearance.

Yes, the bills just won a contest. And yes the fan base has always been strong but it’s just a different level when the team is good and wins!

Put a winning product on the ice! The fans will come. If you build it. They will come.

Not, if you cheap out on GMs and run an ass backwards hockey department they will come and now we have to create and hire a special person to increase the fan base and moral because we are clearly an nhl team and we just can’t figure out wwwwwwwhhhhyyy we don’t have a waiting list for season ticket holders... which is simple to figure out, the team has sucked monkey nuts for a decade. That’s why you aren’t connecting with fans....
