I've said it many, many times over the last 2 years as did Homie, they don't want to move Risto however if it's Patrik Laine, you move him and not look back.

Laine is a really good goal scorer...
But i think I’d rather have Ehlers

Stop resigning guys like Girgs, Larson(difficult) and other bottom three to mid level contracts. You can find 1-2 mil players to fill those roles.
- gibby111

Everyone is assuming we’ll have to overpay Larsson & Girgs to keep them...
Why?

Sure, when you trudge to an office everyday. But when you play QB in the NFL? How many better jobs are out there?

They will pay them 2-3 mil. You can get guys at 1-2 easily and take that extra 2-3 saved for high end talent. The difference in talent level between two is definitely something that will improve the team.

Crystal ball??

And who are the “good” $1mil players that are gonna choose to sign here?

I think your assuming things without backup

Money will always be the ultimate motivator.

There are only 64 QB jobs in the NFL.

If you ask the top percentile of any occupation that are the best in their craft I’m sure they’d all tell you they love what you do.

There are not many people who make millions of dollars that do not enjoy what they do. Many of those will make millions of dollars without having to show up to work with cracked ribs.

we are assuming larsson is a 4th liner

reality, ralph gave him, okposo and girgens third line minutes as they averaged combined about 14 minutes a night

- navinrjohnson

We are either getting another Center,
or Cozens is making the roster

It should lessen their minutes

100% accurate

I drove up for my uncle's

But my wife flew home and when I was at the airport there was a lady sitting at a table taking information but people were just walking by her

It is completely voluntary

Well they make 1.6 mil now so if they sign them they are due for a raise. Vesey made 2.3, Simmonds made 2.5. You tell me you can’t find a call up/rookie or a vet that can do the same thing they do to replace one or two of them.

As in whom to play for, not whether to play or not. We're not talking about a high first round pick handed a starting job here. He was a sixth round pick who sat for 4 years attempting just 35 passes before being given an opportunity to fight for a job, again, not handed a job. Then, after that he went to a team knowing he'd be, at best, a stop-gap. Now he's on his 4th team. Unless he treats money like Andre Rison or MC Hammer he's not playing just to get paid.

I think Ehlers fits better in the Sabres lineup (and won't have a $10 million cap hit soon)

Sure, he’s playing because he can. His career is most likely over in a couple years tops regardless of injury. He’s making as much money as he can to set himself up for himself and future generations of his family.

Money is never the only factor, I’m sure we won’t see Tyrod in the CFL though playing because he loves the sport

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m telling you

Our “LOG” line was very good defensively this season
Among the best in the league
Thinking we can bring up rookies to do that is just dumb
And maybe you think we can attract UFAs for some reason, but i don’t.
Not unless we overpay

So why not just keep the line together that we ALREADY KNOW is VERY EFFECTIVE ?!?!

And the salaries jumping from 1.6 up to 3mil
is a giant leap for bottom6 players who don’t score much
Around $2mil for each seems right
With their lack of offensive stats & the Covid Cap,
I don’t see them getting too much more than they’ve been making

Idk about that
If u fly up, they do take your info & check on you
But if you’re only up for a few days or a week,
then there isn’t much they can do even if they did catch ya

No reason to miss a funeral- imo of course
Homie will have to decide that for himself
But I’m fairly sure he’d be fine

So you want to keep that line that’s going to make over 10mil for a fourth line? Cmon man we can do better. Spend that money on top end talent! You also have to have guys on their entry level contracts that help. Another words we have to have guys filter through the system which allowed you to drop guys like Vesey and Girgs!

Okposo makes up 60% of that 10 mil so that’s a tad disingenuous.

If they signed two 1.5 mil players that’s still a 9 mil line

An $8mil line instead of a $10mil line doesn’t buy us enough savings to spend on a top line player

The problem with the finances of that line is OKPOSO, and NOT whoever the other 2 are
