I agree, and that's why the switch in picks from 8th overall to 6th overall is there, to balance out the added 2 years in contract length and $400K more in salary the next 2 seasons.

I already made that trade with Dozer on the Ducks board
8 and Risto for
6 and Henrique plus 400,000 retained on the Ducks side. But the fax machine is broken.

get on it, gmkark...four more years left at a $5M cap-hit, with only $17M in salary over the next four seasons...30-goal scorer with the cats, three-time 20-goal scorer with vegas...plays that intense, uptempo game and at 29 yr.s old, is still in his prime...

sold

What do you think the acquisition cost is?

Is Nordstrom good?

His advanced stats don't look great and was worse this year in CF/FF/PDO, but with only 24% oZone starts, tough to be successful.

Fair enough. Seems like a defensive forward. We could use a Pker and shut down guy, was just curious.

Canucks and Bruins Trade Talks

An NHL source has confirmed to Boston Hockey Now that the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks have engaged in trade talks since the Bruins were eliminated from the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs by the Tampa Bay Lightning on August 31.

Fair opinion.

I believe if we have a high end 2C that Larsson can be a dominant shut down line

- Pegullaville

I'm not sure he couldn't be a good 3C if playing with actual third-line wingers instead of Okposo and Girgs. Here's an argument for OG Larry at 3C from DBTB.

I don't know if I buy him as a potential 3C, but I do agree with sbroads that the Sabres need to actually replace what he brings to the table if he does leave. He's really, really good at the things he does well.

I've seen trades on CF for Lars Eller, would he fit the bill? Celery is 2.5-3-3 w/cap hit of 3.5

imo, we have our 3C for this year--cozens...with the caveat that they surround him with some quality, veteran wingers (something i really didn't address in my latest roster, *shrugs*)

I like rust. He’s fast and can put up some points. I forget if he’s primarily a LW or RW. But I’m making that call and seeing what they want for him.

That's my concern, too. But part of me wonders if that changes if he has actual third-line-caliber wingers (I'm also concerned if the Sabres even have such wingers to offer).

He was on pace for 24 points in 82 games playing with Girgs and Okposo. If he plays with better wingers, does he put up closer 30 points? That doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

Nick Bonino, who I think most agree is a capable 3C, scores 25-40 points per season. If Larsson can increase his scoring by 5-10 points with better wingers while still maintaining his very strong defensive play, I think he could be valuable at 3C because his higher goal suppression would offset the lower scoring to a degree. That's a lot of IFs though.

To be clear, I'm mostly playing devil's advocate here because I do not know one way or the other if he can handle as a 3C. But there is some evidence that maybe he could if given a shot. My preference would be for Larsson to serve as an excellent 4C, but I think he'll cost too much for that role without having a 3C and/or 2C on their ELC.
