i dont think many will argue that the LOG line (if it were the 4th line) isn't a problem. the problem comes when they are used as a 3rd line and when you look at the price tag.

Well the last 2yrs would be the problem, you are basically adding 400,000 for the first 2yrs with the contract swap. He would still only be 32, so you might be able to still move him.

I mean you could switch Staal with Monahan and we’d still be in the same predicament, actually even worse off defensively.

How they replace Larsson remains to be seen. If it is by throwing a two year offer at Haula or Gally though then they better be on the look out for a couple of 200 foot wingers to compensate

It's not that hard to figure out. Eichel takes the tough matchups a la Sidney Crosby, Staal and Skinner feast in the wake a la Malkin, and then you assemble a bottom six that is balanced enough to occasionally score and not puke all over themselves in the defensive zone.

My God it'll be ok when Larsson leaves. I promise.
