Am of the opinion that he doesn't need to be "ripped," per say, he just needs to have enough strength and stamina to handle NHL minutes and the grind of the season. No small task, but the developmental coaches should be the driving and guiding voices in his off season workout regimen.

It does When you make it a point to lie about it lol..

Its bad when Dahlin says all he does is play video games and you catch him during the House tore video smh

That was coaching. Or was it special teams? Sandpaper?

I'm confused.

Sabres scored more goals than the Stars did this past season.

Maybe Ralph was on to something with our defensive play at 5v5 but didn’t get the saves from our goaltending duo

Exactly the mistake was gifting him a spot In giving him everything without him earning it.

He better not have a double chin

Does anyone expect him to make the team either way? I dont. Unless there's no AHL season and they go with expanded rosters or something. I can't picture a role for him that makes sense

Dylan Cozens bagged a moose.

Mittelstadt probably just packed a few lips and played Call of Duty Warzone the last 6 months

Someone will take him ..... he has value. It’s not like the Sabres will come out to say to the public. “Casey middlestadt is a fat whale and came into camp out of shape”

Mittelstadt and Miller for a RW and here's why -

Mittelstadt is not a top-6 center on this team probably ever with Eichel and Cozens here. He's not a checking or energy center. Olofsson and Skinner are your top LWs. Kahun is a better checking 3LW than Mitts. So you're talking about shifting Olofsson to RW just to accommodate Mitts in your top-6 where he could potentially be useful

Or just move him and Miller (a pretty good package) for a real need - RW. I do think he has some value now and I'd take advantage of that

Homie thinks he should be on the first line if he's in shape ..

If hes in shape he should Be on the 3rd line and work his way up..

After his last interview I don't see any way hes going to be in shape He just seems like a guy that doesn't care ..

The fancy stats say that Kreuger deployed a heavy defensive system to try to mask the fact that we had shoddy goaltending and essentially one scoring line.

The Sabres defensively were a top 8 team in the NHL however in the limited times other teams did get high ranger scoring opportunities our goalies didn’t come up with the saves more often then not.

Kreuger made some questionable personnel decisions and also seems to agree with the notion that special teams didn’t matter however I don’t think he was as bad as some people make him out to be.

I agree completely.

Mitts is a winger at the NHL level and if there is one thing this team has it is an abundance of left handed shot wingers.

Mitts + Montour + 2021 first should definitely be able to acquire either a top 6 RW or another Center so that way we can have a 2A and 2B setup in our middle 6 with the Staal line getting heavy offensive usage and the 2B line getting the more defensive zone utility

We should see if we can take Kerfoot off their hands for a bag of pucks.

Yeah they need a piece that solidifies Cozens either in the top-6 as a RW or as the checking/3rd line center

Olofsson-Eichel-Reinhart
Skinner-Staal-Cozens/TBD
Kahun-Cozens/TBD-Tage

I just dont see a fit for Mittelstadt at all. Even with Staal gone in a year I dont see him as a checking line center. And who knows, if Staal is a fit, maybe they give him a short extension

Is the bag still in good shape? Zipper still works?

He's a $3.5M cap hit for next 3 years, but in actual money owed, it's just under $8M. I think a few teams would be happy to take him - but the return will be small.

Can I interest you in a Bracco?

I wish there was a way to pin a comment at the top of the thread so that way I didn’t have to post this every week haha.
