In 5+ years from now when Malkin is retired Ek will still be proposing a Malkin trade, so that he can enter the HoF as a player for another team .

Yeah, I know that doesn't make sense but few of Ek's trade proposals do.

Everyone is focussed on Nashville, but Ek also mentioned Winnipeg. I'm sure Malkin would waive his NMC to go be the man with Schiefele, Wheeler, Connor, etc...oh and of course Pat Laine. But maybe Pat Laine is part of the trade for Malkin. Pat would look great on a line with Sid Crosby and Jay Zucker. Pittsburgh would need to add a 2C though. So maybe Mat Murray gets traded to Carolina and Jord Staal comes back home to Pittsburgh? So then the Pens would go Trist Jarry and Case DeSmtih in net. Not the most experienced duo, but a line of Sid, Jay, and Pat would score a ton. Second line would be Jord and Kasper Kap and maybe Bry Rust. Solid.
