“Lehner was one percentage point better in save percentage (.918 versus .917)”
I hate to nitpick (actually, I guess it’s sorta what I do), but the difference between.918 and .917 is one tenth of one percent, not one percent.
No need to make Lardass seem even better than he was. Elbows has enough to deal with already. |

What's that say for the guy who got him back in a trade? - boilermaker100
I can't argue the trade has been good for us. In light of why it was made, it's really a similar trade to the Danault trade. Give up future considerations to win now. Two bad ones with the same team.

I really can't see an NHL team agree to Crawford playing the majority of games. I think it is the Hawks or no one, or he decides he is OK with splitting time. - LAHawk
He's likely finding that out every phone call his agents makes.

Nice comeback by the Stars. Hope they can win it in OT. |

That was a crummy way to lose on that dumb shoot the puck out penalty...
Does Loss Vegas still offer fat ass contract for basically just standing?
There was no screen; he just did not track the puck, have his clove up and I am thinking fatigue? |

No game 7 - I hate Texas more than I hate Las Vegas and Lehner - not a good outcome for me. |

If TB wins Tuesday SCF begin Thursday?
Isn't there usually a moratorium on signings and trades during the finals in order not to steal the thunder?
Probably will just hear more speculation than announcements the next week to 10 days. |

Just out of curiosity..... because I dislike 1).a system trumps more talent on the other team and 2). being outplayed yet a team still wins......I would love to see NYI vs Dallas.....who wins? |

That is NOT happening but Dallas wins.
This series was about vets, will and never stopping, just playing hard.
Little Joe and even Perry played to win like they were in their heyday in San Jose and Anaheim...the Stars stuck with some of the bottom end forwards for years, not quitting on their hometowns and growing a few good ones just recently. And the defense is new age not perfect but pretty mobile.
Compare that to a Vegas team that built in a couple years really we'll and twerked this season TO win, with plenty of depth.
The thing is some guys just didn't elevate their games. www.nhl.com › player › max-pacioretty-8474157
Max Pacioretty has always been a nice player but he never played higher than usual, and their big scorers didn't score because THEY did play hard checking and were spent.
Pac, he seems to have reached his high water mark as a guy who isn't gonna go to the wall for the team.
I am glad we aren't paying him....
on hating teams form the West,
Last year I picked St. Louis in the final game because I thought they were dominating and not going to let the Bruins win. And the Blues never won one, so good for hockey and the fans...
If they can stop Tampa Bay's scorers, I am happy for them too, I know they won in what 1999? but I love when Hawk rivals win. because it shows how the Western conference still plays a hard style. |

They should invest in a player who can put it in the back of the net. They really struggle with this when they are playing against men - BetweenTheDots
Specifically, power it into the next in a crowd in front of the net. That would help the power play a lot not always depending on the perfect shot or pass.

Don't say that in Buffalo. They still sell "no goal" shirts. And by the rules of that year it should not have counted. |

Yeah, Eddie showed the tape after the game. lol!
Brett Hull's left skate entered the crease just before his second shot went in..
Wikipedia:
In the third overtime, Jere Lehtinen took a shot from from the left circle that was stopped by Dominik Hasek.[1] Brett Hull was not in the crease for the first shot. The rebound came near Hull's left skate, which Hull used to kick the puck to his stick, which was just outside the crease. His left skate entered the crease just before his second shot went in and ended the series.[2]
None of the Sabres players or coaches questioned the legality of the goal in the immediate aftermath. It was not until league commissioner Gary Bettman was on the ice to hand out the trophies that Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff returned to his bench and began screaming at Bettman to explain why the goal had not been reviewed. In the Sabres' locker room, players who had seen the replays were infuriated. Hasek recalled, "My first reaction was 'Let's get back on the ice.' But it's 2 o'clock in the morning and I look at everyone and it's like, 'I'm already out of my pants. It's impossible.'"[3]
The NHL had sent a private memo out earlier in the season with a clarification to the in-the-crease rule. The memo stated that if a player was in control of the puck, a skate could be in the crease even if the puck was not, and a goal in that circumstance would count.[4] NHL Director of Officiating Bryan Lewis said after the game that the goal had been reviewed, just as every goal that season had been, and the officials in the video review booth had determined that since Hull was deemed to have been in possession of the puck throughout the play, he was allowed to shoot and score a goal, even though one skate had entered the crease before the puck.[5] |
