The guy is in incredible shape. If Chelios can play to age 48, Chara will play for a while yet IMO.

He may be in great shape for his age, but he’s lost a step on the ice.

And Chelly sucked for the last 6 years he played

Chelios won a stanley cup at 45 years of age though. He did fine as a third pairing defenseman.

Chara in a reduced role isn't a problem for Boston.

I admit, I legit thought Chara was gonna retire after they lost to Tampa. Surprised he came back.. Chara's not the same anymore either.. The refs just let him get away with everything.

without knowing what teams are willing to give for the 15th pick that would help the leafs its hard to say.

atm i am hoping they keep the pick so I have something worth watching on draft day

- senstroll

I'm hoping for that too.

I wouldn't be against them trading it but if it happens, I hope they do it during the draft at least.

As long as Chara is played ina proper role, he can still excel. Not sure repeating that same ice-time next year would be wise. He played a lot.,

And his cross-checking is still top in the league!

Everyone knowsI hate Babcock, but Roenick claiming Babs did not play Chelios at what, age 46 in the finals because he was American was beyond idiotic.

Except, Chelios was a healthy scratch a lot, only played 6 games in those playoffs and had his ice time significantly reduced..

For Chelios I would say the last 3-4 years. I think Boston will treat Chara well, he can have a job with the Bruins for life IMO. Just like Nacho-Eating Cam Neely. Chara was never quick and his ability to cross-check opponents hasn't diminished.

Chelios was born Jan 1962, so he would have been 46 when the Wings won in 2008.

This fall is going to be bad everywhere. Some schools will be closed. Office workers really should still work from home. People waking up with a sore throat will need to be off 2 weeks.

I ain't got a subscription to the Athletic but LeBrun says that Pietrangelo is disappointed that he doesn't have a contract done yet.

Hopefully it continues all the way to free agency.

If people are asymptomatic and are working from home, why would they need to be off?

That's what I heard a while back on the SportsNet podcasts. I think Freidman was saying the same thing. Pietrangelo wasn't happy that his contract was dealt with last, wasn't happy with Armstrong's $81.5/23 comments and a host of other things

We will see.

He has a young family and a wife from St. Louis. I think he really wants to stay there but has to pretend he is willing to leave to get the most out of the deal.

My guess is he eventually signs a very team friendly deal in St. Louis. But as always, I'm hoping he somehow finds his way to TO.

I doubt he goes anywhere but St Louis, but if he gets to the point of listening to offers, I would think the elastic band will be coming off the roll of bills for the Leafs and a few other teams.

The party of infanticide will never have the moral authority. Pathetic hypocrites.

Trump is a better person than Canada Cup, Zezel, Fake, Aardvark and the rest of you clowns who don't know how to STFU.
