if he's dumb enough to give a 5th and 3M+ to Edmonston, he's certainly dumb enough to let Petry walk

a bit tired of patching holes with rejects from other teams, 4th liners and grade B plugs. when you need a brand new car you don't buy a used skateboard.

absolutely, but how many Chiarot do we need?!?
that defensive 15-20 pt dman on the top4 Karine was talking about, that's Chiarot! don't need another one.

well technically Weber and Petry would be the point-producing dmen, and Chiarot and Edmonson their respective stay-at-home Ds. I remember when Petry got here it was far from being a consensus, and he did have his struggles but today barely anyone complains about him, so I'll wait before judging where Edmunson fits in there. and he hasn't signed yet anyways, so...

to me Weber is a stay at home dman. he doesn't carry the puck like Petry does. yes he gets points but many on the PP. they need a puck moving dman on the left side to play with him imo. and play Chiarot where he should be playing which is on the 2nd pairing.

yeah I get what you're saying. we'll see what MB's next moves will be, he still has money and picks at his disposal, he might not be done on the backend yet

In a perfect world Romanov and one of Juulsen/Fleury would fit in, but probably not.

can't disagree with that, as much as the Weber/Chiarot pairing has done a decent job, a puck-carrying dman on the 1st pair can come in handy, especially if they want to generate more offense

I’m sure you hated the Chiarot trade when it happened too?? I was one of the only ones that told you guys he’d be a great addition as I watched a ton of Jets games being in NW Ontario. There’s no pleasing you.

yeah there are still many question marks, but at least you get the sense they're heading in the right direction defensively, as they'll have more interesting options than last year
