This is (frank)ing crazy.

And it backfired in her face, just like that Alzner signing.

Ya this is nuts for a 3 week window to essentially ink the UFA. Another baffling trade. I wish my club would pimp out its ufa's for 3 weeks of courtship. Now Mtl knowingly has to overpay while they have this shortened window. Smart.

Fear not Benny BBQ, once the new ref is appointed, with all his credentials, he's going to clean this place up this place up so it's paradise again for the happy boys.

He has been implying that were gay. It might be true, but it's still ban worthy

It will be no surprise if the Minnesota Wild part ways with 37-year-old center Mikko Koivu. He had been relegated to third-line duties for the Wild and the team may be looking to get younger.

Montreal loves veteran centers. If Bergevin does decide to move on from Max Domi and/or Danault in any trade, Koivu could be an inexpensive option to fill a defensive void as well as play a leadership role for Kotkaniemi.

while I understand the logic behind it, I would definitely rather keep Danault than to trade for a 37-year-old guy at the end of his career. the Wild are looking to get younger, but why should the habs get older?

plus I get the feeling there would be this unnecessary hype because of the Koivu name

I'd gift the spot to Poehling before that and I have no desire to gift it to Poehling

It would basically be saying that they dont wanna pay Danault + Domi what they want for as long as they want, they probably wouldn't feel they could afford a 3rd line C at that cost for too long... it would obviously be a downgrade from either at this point in Koivu's career but no doubt huge upgrades elsewhere from the return both would bring in trades!

If they both ask for 6 years at 6 or over, I wouldn't blame Bergy for dealing them both, it would be the right move

I would also rather give that role to a younger guy already with the team, although I understand the convenience of having a veteran player that can bring more stability

It may come form the fact that Danault said publicly he did not want to play as the third line center. Domi is not looking happy about his role either. So there is that.

It makes sense if both Domi's and Danault's demand are over the top... easy for us to say who stays and who goes without knowing contract demands

Were talking a 1 year deal for a veteran checking line C and good PK in case Danault/Domi either don't wanna stay or price themselves out... nobody is offering 37 year old Koivu long term and big money

Both guys out and Koivu in is obviously a downgrade at 3rd line C... but the return in both trades would mean upgrades elsewhere in the lineup

He is very old lol!

Not saying I like the idea or even him particularly, the article said him... I'm just saying re-signing and keeping either Domi and/or Danault is not a guarantee

ok so we would have Koivu + return for Danault + return for Domi? I thought Koivu was part of that return...
