Haha.... that is all you got? Pathetic.
How was the game 7 performance against the Islanders? Lets go want to hear you break it down. How was the effort? How was the execution? How did the top players perform? How were the coaching adjustments? Lets talk hockey. |

no one wants jvr. The league has seen that the player we drafted 2nd overall, in his second stint with the team, was getting scratched. Seattle isn’t going to take JVR. We need to all except this team is going to have Giroux and JVR on the roster. |

the flyers are not going to lose anyone of consequence in the expansion draft. I do not give up a first in any way to take JVR or anyone else. 1st rd picks will be important in this economic climate the next few years.
Let Seattle take who they take and move on. If you can work out a reasonable deal in terms of adding a pick or prospect then by all means try. |

So it was feeble. They didn't show up in the biggest game the franchise has played in a decade. Interesting.
That said, I'd go to war with Lindblom, and Couturier any time. Those guys are the definition of warriors. |

There are four teams that have cap space. Ottawa, Buffalo, New Jersey and Detroit. Even if the Flyers eat up to 50% it is still worth trading him to one of those teams. Of course, that's assuming they want to move him.
JVR with 50% retained and a pick for a lower pick than what we offered. I actually think he wouldn't be a bad fit for Buffalo or New Jersey. |

Fine with both of them on the roster. We're not talking Vinny Lecavalier and the corpse of RJ Umberger here. JVR is still scoring 20+ goals per in limited minutes. G is still a 60-70+ pt player. We've had a lot worse problems in the past. |

MacDonald was a legitimate 2nd pair NHL defenseman for a number of years in the NHL. There is no argument. It's simply a fact.

Agree with this and they both have good reason to step up this season. I believe G will come back in great shape with a great focus and have a really good year. JVR needs to do the same. If JVR is here they need to let him play. I get he wasn't great in the playoffs, neither were others but he was one of the few that could actually score, they gave TK, G and others a chance to play their way through it. I am not a fan of letting jvr go, losing the deal and not addressing the scoring issues. If the right deal comes by all means make it but it has to make the team better.
I hope with playoff experience the D will be better next season, the breakouts next playoff will be better.

They have to build the team better around Giroux. The best way of doing that is to simply let the young players develop. Giroux may no longer be capable of carrying a team but I have no doubt that he can be a good player on a good team. JVR actually scored as well as Giroux did at 5 on 5 during the regular season.

I don’t have a problem with G and JVR on this team as it stands - my point is people are thinking Seattle will take JVR and that’s hilarious.
The bigger point is these are reasons Jake should and will be moved. I think there are a few young guys on this team that could do a lot with jakes ice time.
What kind of deal could we make with Calgary involving Jake/Ghost? |

have to add speed around them. I think G has 1 more high end season in him, I am not saying he will not be good after, I just think at his age and his skill set 1 more High end season is reasonable. |

I figured that also so in line with silly season we're going to trade players we don't want anymore for other teams top players that we do want.

Nate Thompson on the possibility of re-signing in Philly: “I’d be very interested. I love the group of guys, the coaching staff. I thought it was a good fit for me. I think this team has a window of winning so if it’s a possibility, I would like to be a part of it."
Just what they need being hemmed in their own zone for a minute at a time, and Thompson getting 13-15 min TOI in playoff games. Appears the writing is on the wall. Seems like a Fletcher/Vigneault type of plug. |

From the Athletic:
Jakub Voracek — Look, if another team banged down the door for Voracek, the Flyers wouldn’t disregard it. He has four years left on a contract with an $8.25 million cap hit, which certainly has the potential to get ugly at some point. Here’s the thing: The other 30 NHL teams know that as well. To trade Voracek, Fletcher would have to get creative and almost certainly “lose” the deal. Why do that with a guy who is still providing first-liner value? It’s far easier to just ride it out with Voracek and hope the mid-30s fall isn’t steep.
https://theathletic.com/2...ly-returnees-for-2020-21/
Also regarding Patrick...
Nolan Patrick — There have been some recent rumors that the Flyers may be ready to move Patrick. But that’s not my read on the situation. They still love his upside and feel that if he can get past his migraine disorder, he fits extremely well in the lineup as a right-handed center with size, skill and skating ability: a rarity in today’s NHL. Patrick was close to taking a real run at returning to action when the season was paused in March, and he continued to make progress over the summer even though he didn’t join his teammates in the bubble. The organization and Patrick’s camp decided that if a playoff return wasn’t a guarantee — and it wasn’t — he would be best served to take a step back and approach 2020-21 as a clean slate, rather than being the subject of daily speculation in the bubble as to whether he would rejoin the lineup.
Also, it would be extremely difficult to trade Patrick for anything remotely resembling “fair” value given his uncertain medical status. Moving Patrick now would essentially be throwing in the towel. I don’t believe the front office is anywhere near close to reaching that point with him. |

He was a 1st or 2nd pair defenseman getting 20 plus minutes a night on two different teams under 5 different coaches.
