Watching the final of the Istanbul Open (Genie Bouchard is in it) and the other woman is wearing a grey cotton t-shirt.

Bizarre

Also Edmundson was a guy i thought the leafs should target in free agency. A 5th for the rights is pretty cheap.

I'm personally very glad that his rights got traded somewhere else.

I've never liked his game and he's only getting worse as the years go on.

Can make the game boring out there. It is his only skill however.

Some of the stories about the fires in Oregon and California sound like war or Armageddon movies.

Anyone in denial of Climate Change needs to give themselves a shake. This recent photo of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fran speaks volumes. From what I hear, about 10% of the population of Oregon live in zones that have to be evacuated. Terrible stuff.

What interests me about Sanheim is he has a 3M cap next year.

The Leafs have the opportunity to see how he fits on the team but still control his rights going into next offseason. You can start with Johnnson and add from there. Liljeregen, 1st round pick, Dermott, Engvall. Some nice pieces to add.

They could add him and have more space to swap out Kerfoot for a better 3C and even add a 2M defender from FA for the D core.

No doubt humans have a contributing factor on CC.. These recent last 3 yrs of fires in Ca. though are for the most part a direct result of piss poor forest management and the abdication by the PUC of holding PGE and SCE responsible for replacing old towers and lines -

For the right price I think there are places for guys like that on a team.

but they have to be 3rd pairing guys who can slide up in tight leads to bore the (frank) out of the game. You dont pay anymore than 3m for that though.

yup. with a warming climate, you would think forest management should become more important.

I hope they raked the bridge. Scary times and horrifying to see so much being done to make it worse faster

Neighbours (2 adults + 5 kids) are leaving today after a student exchange program

Left BC at 3am, flying into San Fran for a 17 hr layover, then onto Australia (if all goes well)

Trip from hell....
Got here just as Covid hit. Both are teachers and schools were closed shortly after their arrival. No money coming in for them, since they are both teachers. Schools were still open in Australia, so Canadian family was having a good time and did not want to return early. Now, Australia is in lockdown and trips are ending earlier than planned.
Flights costing them 35k + 8k for 2 week quarantine at hotel upon arrival. Therefore...43k to return after not making any money. They are planning to relocate to Northern Australia upon return, where they can recoup some of their reduced savings by working in remote locations.
Nightmare!

Was skimming the internet and saw that Micheal Russo(very respected Wild source around the league)

Said Fenton offered Niederitter and Dumba for Nylander during his contract dispute.

Fenton joined the rookie GM Zito in Florida the other day...

Could be some smoke regarding Ekblad and Nylander.

Family I know left mid-January for a 12-month around the world trip. Their first stop was Asia.

Haven't touched base with them - they must be pissed.

Dean Blundell claims they talked about Nylander for Ekblad. Ekblad is one of the very few DMen i'd consider moving Nylander for. I do think Panthers are a financial mess and may do it.

They already paid him his 4M bonus for this year.

They still save 2-3m over the rest of the contact but they'd need more for this year.

If you add a swap of Johnnson and Connoly it could be done.

They save 1M each year for AJ/BC swap.

Ekblad/Connoly

for

Nylander/Johnnson

Ekblad could possibly be a very good addition, I worry about the four concussions though - he's easily worth the contract if healthy but its a big risk in my view. Dumba is nowhere near as good but might be a really good fit with Rielly. He would cost much less in a trade as well.

He hasn't had one in 3 years.

I Dont think the risk is huge.

There would be at least a small risk in every D add.

Florida is loosing their entire 2nd line so something has to give there...They might value having Weegar for 3M and Nylander than Ekblad and whatever Weegar gets in a trade.

I worry about how he will get along with Domi, who’s a lock to the Leafs.
