Dallas doesn't even deserve to be in this game. But one bad turnover by Schmidt and then he deflects it into his own net and the game is tied. - GreatGigInTheSky
I'm so confused by goalies. They all have bad games. They all let in the odd softy.
The PTSD I suffer from our Toskala, Sparks, Monster, Bernier days just won't let me ever be decisive about goalies.
To quote the great President Bush...
Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice Mandela.
Something like that. - underhill14
It's so crazy with goalies. You can be like Philly and rotate through a pile of them and never win anything or land on a guy like Niemi who helps you win a cup and then goes on to nothing....
He's a 34 year old journeyman back up. How much of a pay day is he going to get? - Aaron_85
I’d venture he is going to get a nice two-year deal.. especially with a condensed schedule, guys are gonna be looking for reliable, dependable back ups...

Watching Vegas and Dallas play it confirms again that the leafs team this season was very very far away from being a serious contender.

You have to try to get to a Dead and Company concert if you ever get the chance. As close as you can get to a Grateful Dead concert. Once the music starts, no one is sitting. - winsix
My guitar teacher who is 72 saw the Dead in Toronto when he was a teenager. He and a buddy took a bus from London. It was the Dead and some other band (semi well known that I don’t remember). It was an indoor, fairly formal venue (seats, not open standing room). After the Dead’s set Garcia comes out and say that they and the other band are going to jam and that anybody in the audience who wanted to join them was free to do so. They had a bunch of guitars. He didn’t play but sat up there pretty well all night. Some people did pick up guitars. They played pretty well till morning. My buddy was grounded for a month.

Moby Grape? Quicksilver Messenger Service? Pretty sure that's who they hung out with early on.

Might have been or maybe even just a band that was on the bill. I really don’t remember. It’s funny. I used to listen to Quicksilver a lot and I never pictured them as part of the Deaf scene.

That was at the (then called ) O'Keefe Centre in I believe August of 1967. Now the Meridian Centre. The Headliners were the Jefferson Airplane and the Dead were the backup band. They played for a week in Toronto.

It was the Airplane - a pretty good band.

poop, I don’t remember it being the Airplane but the date seems right. I’ll ask him. I remember him saying he so wanted to pick up a guitar and join them but just felt too shy and how open and welcoming they were to anybody who wanted to join in.

Also, wow what a show and what a scene. - Canada Cup
This was the Dead's first visit to Toronto and the next one wasn't until 1977.
