I don’t think we should panic and make drastic changes. We shot 2 percent at even strength against Columbus. What are the odds of that happening again?

Happens when the other teams d give very little time or chances. We’ve given up so many ore shots against then a team like the Bruins over the last few years...it’s time for the Leafs to build from the net out.

Just my opinion of course 🥰 - Garnie
Depends on what you think are acceptable d-men for the Leafs. IMO Rielly, Muzzin, Sandin are all ok, Holl as a #6 is ok. Montreal traded (although it was a bad trade) Sergachev to Tampa for Drouin. Not hard to picture picking up a capable UFA and trading for a young core defender that is a #2 behind Rielly or at least a solid second pairing guy. Tired of the Leafs getting out coached or out goaltended in the playoffs. Inflict damage, pain, suffering on the opponent's goalie. Matthews was ok, but he should have been firing 10 missiles at the weak-ass goalies Leafs were facing - per game!

Good one.
Long and Winding Road is still my fave. Was putting together a list on Youtube of classic rock stuff to listen to on the treadmill.
The Beatles had a ridiculous number of recognizable songs. - Aetherial
I’ve just started piano (6 or 7 weeks) and am taking lessons from my daughter who teaches and is a songwriter. (She’s just starting this new gig doing custom songs for weddings and stuff).
Anyway, we’re at a point where I can do song of my choosing. I chose In My Life. She said no way, too hard. Chord structures in Beatles songs are so complex to create such simple sounding pop songs. The one song we could do is Love Me Do. Even there they do weird little things like have an odd number of chords just hanging there.

Should have went hard for Hamilton when he was available...now I don’t know. That’s up to the team and their scouts.
CBJ is a lot better then some people give them credit for IMO, they play D 1st and wait for teams like the Leafs to get caught deep and they’re gone on an odd man.

Awesome, I’ve been self teaching myself ( a little bit, play guitar a lot more ) Piano is pretty fun though.

Yeah, I’ve been playing guitar (badly) for a while. Piano is cool. It’s more logical if that makes sense with everything just laid out in front instead of having to go up and down and barre chord this,

I'm hoping for another clinic with Jorma at the Fur Peace Ranch. I'd like to play Minor Swing by Django Reinhardt. This was from the annual festival in his honor a few years back.

Yes, piano seems so simple after playing G 1st...even though it’s not simple.

And needed a miracle comeback in another. Let's not pretend this squad only just missed moving on...
It's abundantly clear this team simply cannot withstand D injuries.

I would blame the 10 goals for in 5 games against below average goaltending as much as anyting in that series. Holes in the defense - certainly obvious and true, lousy offensive underperfomance by forwards was a major factor.

Good for you, man. I’m so impressed by people who can really play. Everyone in my family- wife, son, daughter and son-in-law are all really talented. I’m not. My goal on guitar now is just to be able to play along, banging out some chords more or less in time with everyone else. Every once in a while I get too frustrated trying to do a harder rhythm pattern but then scale back expectations and it’s all fun again

Columbus made a big comeback for one of their wins too. The leafs were up 3-1 and Matthews hits the post which could have put it away, game of inches.
My point is you don’t tear it down based on this weird COVID year. Just tweak it here and there. I don’t think we’ve ever had 4 forwards of this quality and it’s like we can’t wait to tear it down.
I thought Kapanen for Myers was the deal to make - mr.sir
Yeah, I’d have passed. Myers now projects to be the top pairing defenseman with Provorov when Niskanen moves on. He’s already better than Niskanen. Guy looks to be a bonafide top 2 sooner than later. Top 2s go for more than 3rd liners. Hell, even top 4s go for more for 3rd liners.
I understand that most of the league doesn’t realize this. He never had hype until after the draft, well, because he was never drafted! The guy flew up the ranks and blew away everyone in his path. Hard worker. Myers is a harder get than Sanheim, and Sanheim won’t be easy. Myers may not quite be the defenseman Sanheim is yet, but he could be, and playing RHD tacks on a little value when looking at their club. Both of them are silky smooth and compliment each other tremendously as a pairing.
But that’s moot. Kapanen went back to the Yinzers. Shame. I liked him. Woulda loved him in Philly. Now he’s with those Pennsylvanians.
And the 1st offer was made by me, and on your thread. I’ve since rescinded. Although value wise it’s probably not all that far apart, it was offered up during a severe lack of scoring in the playoffs when I was frustrated. There’s really no reason to get rid of quality defensemen to make way for a scoring need that can be filled without doing so.
