Trade Fleury? He just made a phone commercial in a Vegas uniform.

I pray to the hockey gods that the Devil's buy out Cory Schneider's contract or trade him and retain contract money.....damn I will even contribute to the buy out money. I wish the expansion draft was this year. it would solve a ton of issues for many teams

TSN has speculated that Montreal and Carolina could be interesting trade partners with the Jets for Laine. I'm not sold that Montreal has (or would part with) what it takes to get Laine, but I think if Carolina packaged one of their top-quality d-men (NOT Dougie Hamilton, please!) along with a decent center (Trocheck, maybe) & a pick and/or prospect, Winnipeg would really have to consider it. The Hurricanes could have fun with their Finnish trio and Winnipeg would add much needed depth to areas in need and perhaps contend again!

At first I agreed... then remembered Belfour was 37 when he signed with us...that went fairly well. At 5 mil (not my money) I'd be game.

Absolutely I do. Jaccob Slavin is your best defenseman. The Jets should take him if offered in a heartbeat!

As far as Hamilton, there's just something about him (his play) that I don't care for . . . Best I can say is there's a reason the Jets passed on him at the 2011 draft (Philadelphia also) and there's a reason he has been traded twice now and still seems to be rumored in trades from Carolina.

well, the Flyers grabbed Couturier that year because he fell in value due to missing games at the end with Mono

who did the Jets take that year? Probably Scheifele?

but yeah, it is fishy about how he keeps bouncing around. Teams dont wanna lose a high end defenseman like that, yet he doesn't seem to unpack his suitcase

Yeah, in a trade for Laine I would prefer a scenario where one of Pesce, Bean, Fleury, or Skjei is part of the return, all before Hamilton, but that's me, personally. (Slavin being the ultimate prize, but likely untouchable!) A decent D-man and a second line center would have to be the return I think, and depending on their quality, I'm thinking picks and/or prospects for Winnipeg to even consider it. I would do 1 for 1 if it's Slavin coming the other way, though!
