I agree J. Was just goofing on you for the typo. I'm assuming it was a typo. Cracks me up when I hear people calling him Trubinsky.

Dont worry about it! As long as Trubinskey plays well at Soldiers Field. Dat was a nice throw to Miller

Hey, Bingo - why would the ‘Canes not resign John Forslund as play-by-play announcer?

With Tracy, he’s part of the best team in the league.

I just read - contract issues - they want both of them to become independent contractors, paid by the game - much less money.

Too bad - bring him here....

Hmmm, interesting, wonder if some teams will go back to simulcasting?

Scenario:

If Kubalik is offer sheeted $4.3 mil AAV, do you let him walk and take the second?
If Kubalik is offered $4.4 mil. AAV, do you let him walk and take the 1st and 3rd?

If it were me, no and yes.
4.3M wouldn't be easy to fit under the cap, but I don't think a 2nd is adequate compensation for Kubalik.

Definitely yes in scenario 2. Maybe in scenario 1.

The Richard Panik extension is still in my short term memory bank. As much as I like Kubalik he is 25 and I think the additional picks help secure more of a long term future.

If they’re looking to win one more before the wonder twins fade into the sunset, I think you have to retain Kubalik at virtually all cost.

That's part of it. Dundon appears to be super cheap when it comes to things that don't impact the in-house experience or the players themselves.

Seems willing to spend on the ice and on the building, but not so much on the broadcast stuff.

I love Forslund, but the reality is he's a top tier play by play guy and the Canes broadcast doesn't exactly do great numbers.

It sucks but he was always leaving for NBC full time at some point anyway.

Hockey draft choices are full blown "crapshoots."
