What does Larsson bring me that makes him such a better choice. Just say you are right and he is BETTER. If anything he is just incrementally better.
- J35Bacher

Larson is good defensively is one reason. He is faster.

What makes Grant a better player in your opinion?

Grant is also good defensively. Faster does not automatically make a player better.

Again, why is he a better player than Grant?

Show me where I've said he is or isn't a better player?

Why is he a better player?

- MJL

Is Larson a better player, yes or no? Oh my bad you said you don't know.

Why isn't he a better player? What makes you want Grant over him? My bad again you never said you didn't

You just made up two reasons to say why the guy you randomly picked off of a list is a better option. I'm done here.

Yep randomly picked and made up reasons.; all which are true. I answered your questions and provided you a player who is better option than grant. To the surprise of no one you disagree without stating why.

Not sure why anyone would want Grant back if he is expecting a raise based on his regular season numbers. He was God awful in the playoffs, and showed his lack of speed against the Habs and Isles. This team needs to get faster at the forward position in general, and I think that was blatantly apparent in those 2 playoff series! I keep Pitlick, and let Braun and Grant walk(Braun looked painfully slow at times too). Thanks!

Adding quality players with speed isn't a bad thing but if you read the transcript of what Fletcher said, he comments on the team speed issue. The issue really wasn't the Flyers lack of speed, it's that they played slow. The quick decision making and puck movement as well as cohesive team play was not there in the playoffs like it was in the regular season before the stoppage. That makes a team appear to be slow.

Ok fair enough. How about you provide your opinion on who you think the better player is and who would you rather have between the 2. If you want to of course.

In the meantime I hope you have a good lunch today. Perhaps some chicken salad on a croissant with swiss? Some bib lettuce a sun dried tomato or 2?

I've kind of thought this way for several years now. It just seems that they struggle with the faster teams around the league. I actually wanted them to get the Bruins in the second round because of this. I read what Fletcher said and I don't dispute that. They struggled with both the Habs and Isles in the playoffs and regular season, and it seems their forward speed can be an issue. I'd just like to see this team get faster in general and Grant certainly doesn't provide that. Hayes,Giroux,Couturier and JVR aren't the greatest skaters. When Patrick played he didn't exactly look fleet of foot along with Lindblom. I'm not dissing the forwards I just mentioned cause Hayes was their best forward in the playoffs and Coots just won the Selke, but I'm just saying that I'd like to seem them add some speed to their existing lineup. Damn, that became long winded.

Congrats to Shutdown Seanie. Way overdue.

Will be quite a few quality UFAs w/o contracts late into the offseason. Will be a lot of teams looking to offload salary coming out of camp. Gonna be pretty easy to find depth replacements/upgrades if the kids don't look ready and/or the injury bug bites.

I'm not enthused by a Haag/Freidman pairing.
- MJL

Blech!!!

Ghost is either entrenched in the top 6 or moved. It CANT be both this year with the cap as much of an issue.

They need a vet on that 3rd pair. Not sure if Boroweiski is a huge improvement talent wise but he’s a grizzly vet. I think apples to apples id rather go into the playoffs with him than Friedman [/img]

I agree. Either play Gostisbehere or move him. I would like to see them play him. I think his value could go up with playing time.

Chuck pretty much said everything I was hoping to hear. Stick to that process, improve from within, don't do dumb poop against the cap.

I look at the top line and they didn’t produce (in the playoffs) but again I can just tell you from what I guess we call it the eye test, from watching the games, I thought they had a lot of zone time and generated a lot of chances. I know their shot share and expected goal numbers were really quite good. I think we did a lot of good things, we had a lot of zone time when they were on the ice, but for whatever reason, the goals didn’t go in. I think they were even at 5 on 5 despite controlling the play by a lot of different metrics. It’s 13 games, those are critical 13 games, but you’ve got to be careful sometimes of putting too much into any 13-game sample size.

I don't know when/if Patrick will be cleared to play. Fletcher stopped well short of saying he should be ready to start the season.

But if/when Patrick returns and if Frost is also on the team, I could see Frost technically being listed at LW but centering when play starts on his natural side and Patrick centering when it starts at center ice or the right side.

Bill, In case I missed it could you touch on your alt account of mjl being outed? I'll hang up and listen.

Add coots to The trade now list. Value at all time high. Time to turn roster over and build around the young pieces. Before you no look to the future people get all hyped up think about it. While coots is somewhat still on younger side he has played an extreme amount of hockey and his decline will come faster than normal. Plus his contract up in few years and gonna want huge $. Which would be a mistake to give. So what could we get in trade for him.
